Scarlett's POV
Of course today is the day I woke up late. My phone alarm never went off because it died because I never put it on the charger. I guess I was really tired last night. I'm late to a meeting with my lawyer and it's important I get this done with before I go pick up Cosmo from Colin.

I'm officially filing separation papers and finalizing the divorce papers so when the time comes I can just hand them over to him. My lawyers are excellent and I've been through this twice before so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing.

I throw my phone on the car charger as I race to meet my lawyer at her office. It's not far but NyC traffic is always unpredictable and I need to get there already.

"Hi, hi I'm sorry Evie, I'm here now." I ramble out breathlessly to my lawyer and her team as I walk into the big conference room.

"No problem Scarlett. I knew you'd be late." She smirks.

This is true, I'm usually last to everything unless I'm throwing the party.

"You've known me for a while." I chuckle. "So, what do I need to do?" I ask.

"Okay so these papers state you've been separated almost a month already and will continue to do so for the time being. At the end of the 3rd month, divorce papers will roll through pending signatures." Evie explains showing me the write up they have.

"And assets?" I ask

"He gets the cars while you keep the New York house. The California apartment will be sold and spilt between you too unless you don't want it." She explains.

The cars were his anyway, and I'd keep my Mercedes because it's mine. The apartment in California was his idea so he can have it. I barely invested in it anyway.

"He can keep the apartment too. He can decide to sell or whatever. Now, what about custody of Cosmo? Will that take effect in this or it has to wait for the divorce proceedings?" I ask not remembering what happened with Romain.

"As long as you guys agree, whatever is going on now can stay as is until court for the divorce. We will agree on terms then." She says.

"Perfect." I say and sign at the little line at the bottom of the page. My lawyer signs next and another lawyers also signs as a witness before they put a little stamp on it and bring it out of the room to get sent to the judge.

Thats it. I'm finally and officially separated from Colin. What a huge weight off my shoulders.

"Is there anything else I can help with?" Evie asks me with a sarcastic undertone. She's always been a joker.

"That's it Evie. Thanks so much." I smile and she walks be out of the conference room and to the front of the office. I was so worried about being late and the meeting was all of 5 minutes. That's all because of Evie and her team. So professional.

In the car ride to pick up my son, I realize what that could mean for Katie and I. With Colin out of the picture I can actually stop worrying about Katie and I. This official separation should help her see how much she means to me. I just hope she doesn't let anything get to her.

This beginning process can get messy and i already know divorce is messy. I can only hope that she sees the bigger picture and can wait through this with me.

I knock on Colin's door and a few second later it swings open. Colin is holding Cosmo in his arms and he wears this big huge smile on his face. "Hii"

His happy tone almost startles me but I'm able to keep my peaceful demeanor seeing my son in front of me.

"Hello." I say and walk in grabbing my baby from him. "Hiiiiya cutie." I say and kiss Cosmos head. I can feel Colin's eye son me and when I look back up at him he still has that big smug smile on his face.
