The next day came quickly, and it was a few hours from showtime. They were all walking around backstage, frantically getting things ready. Jack was trying to help, but he was in the way more than anything. But they'd never say that.
"We need the sample machine!" Ryan yelled at Adam, clearly getting overwhelmed.
"I'm going to get it now!" Adam yelled back, not sounding any more thrilled than Ryan was.
The crew was on stage, getting the instruments and mics set up, and Adam and Ryan (mostly Ryan) were ordering them around.
Overall, they enjoyed the moments like this. The behind the scenes is an important part of the show, but they still weren't completely sure if they could manage to cover all of Jack's vocals.
They were both going to need a lot of warming up.

•It was about an hour from showtime now, and the crowd was almost all filled up.
Ryan and Adam had never been this nervous for a show ever. Usually it was good nerves they had. The kind that pushed them along and motivated them. But now they were freaking out.
The opener was on right now, and they led Jack to the side of the stage where they could see.
"Woah, all those people are here for you guys?" Jack said, his eyes wide at the hundreds of people in the crowd.
Ryan and Adam exchanged a glance. A glance that carried so much emotion in it. So much that neither of them could ever be able to unpack.
"Yep." Ryan said.
"That's amazing!"
"It really is, isn't it?"
In what felt like a few seconds, it was time for them to go on stage. Ryan and Adam ran out as the first song started to play.
Ryan ran around a bit, attempting to imitate Jack's insane dancing, but it just wasn't going to happen. At the end of the song, they paused to briefly explain the situation - why Jack wasn't there.
"You guys probably have noticed that we are missing a lead singer. If you don't know us, our younger brother Jack is our singer. Oh, there he is-" a picture of Jack popped up on the screen behind them. "-but um, he was in an accident recently, he's okay, he right off stage watching us right now, but he's just not fit to perform at the moment. But we hope the two of us can provide you with a decent show."
The crowd cheered, and he heard one girl in the pit yell "we love you."
The show was pretty good considering everything. They were able to cover all the vocals, and the crowd was just as energetic as always.
"This song has been going viral on TikTok recently, which was shocking to us because it's a few years old now, but uh anyway, sing along if you know it, let's go." Ryan said.
Have I done my best here, or
Will I be here next year, or
Are these my best years yet?
Ryan sang out the lyrics, Adam joining in, and everyone in the crowd cheering and singing along.
"I remember they showed me this song!" Jack said. "It's my favorite."
"It's my favorite too." Gracie said, smiling.
Was looking forward to
Being important but
