The first thing Mukhesh did in the morning was to kick his limping best friend out of his house when he caught him sighing and making googly eyes at Nita. His best friend, Ajay, gave him a stink eye, betrayal shining in his eyes but the man didn't care.
Ajay and girls are always bad news. He had the reputation of a playboy which can be described in one sentence—He sleeps with everything that has legs and ovaries and is a mammal.
Mukhesh is awfully blunt and brutally honest with him, but then that makes the two of them.
"Alright, I'm leaving. Are you sure you can go by yourself today?" Mukhesh asked his sister once again. Siya smiled kindly at her brother and nodded.
"Of course. The bus will be in 15 minutes. I better hurry up" She grabbed her bag and stood up, with her mouth full of Chapathi. Mind you it was delicious.
Nita was trying hard not to prove a burden on them, hence she helped with everything in her capability. And her hands were blessed. She was an expert in cooking food. Siya was initially hesitant to let her cook for them out of hospitality, but one bite of her food and she was sorcered.
Mukhesh was genuinely surprised at her cooking skills. He would've vocally appreciated her, but then again, he didn't like using his voice. He gave her a slight nod in appreciation and Nita somehow understood his way of saying.
She has been smiling since then.
"Uh... Where is she?" Mukhesh cleared his throat and looked around the room. Nita was absent throughout the breakfast and he was curious.
Siya's eyebrows shoot up. She controlled her smile at the sight of her brother's eyes scanning the hall with a frown, looking for the girl. "Who bhai?"
Mukhesh narrowed his eyes at his sister and smoothened his shirt. "You know who"
"I don't. Who?"
"Your. friend" Siya's mischievous smile was on full display making him irritated.
"My friend? I've so many Bhai. Which one are you talking about?"
"Siya..." Mukhesh dragged her name in reluctance.
"Go on. Say it" She folded her hands and nodded her head in encouragement.
"N-Nita" Her name rolled off his tongue delicately while he gripped the table tightly. She has such a sweet name!
"Right," She grinned triumphantly. "I don't know where she is"
He glared at her while turning away and looking for her. His eyes searched for her in the house, scanning the rooms yet he came out defeated.
"She isn't here!" He rasped out in panic. Siya furrowed her brows and followed her brother in concern.
"Where could she go? She just had the breakfast—Oh! Here she is" Their trouble ended when Siya spotted Nita standing in the Porch. With a pipe. In front of the car.
"Oh shit!" The concern turned into fury and Mukhesh dashed outside the house, shooting laser death stares at Nita. She stood clueless, wiping out her sweat and cleaning the car.
"What do you think you're doing?" He growled out, standing a few steps behind her. Nita froze in her position and hesitantly turned to look at him.
"I-I... I wanted to clean y-our car" She said in a low voice, earning a grumble from the infuriating man who was breathing fire by now.
"And who asked you to do that!?" Mukhesh folded his hands and took deep breaths. He hated when someone touched his car, let alone clean it when he had to leave. The woman was stepping and molding his nerves with her acts.
