"Here! Let me help" She sprinted to his side and helped him stand up. Mukhesh immediately protested, pulling his hand out of her grasp.

"No, it's fine! I can do it" He muttered with an irritated frown. Nita was taken aback by his behavior.

"Mukhesh, You are hurt. Let me hel-"

"I can do it myself!" He snapped, limping his way to the bathroom. Nita's expression turned cold when she saw him disregarding her efforts.

Why was he so stubborn?

Why can't he accept that he needs help too?

The thought of him being alone entered her mind and immediately regretted her thoughts. How could she forget that this man has been through too much all alone?

After years of hardships, sacrifices, and loneliness, why would he be able to believe anyone? To accept anyone's help? When the world has been cruel to him from a young age?

Nita tried hard not to feel hurt by his words. She tried to think by imagining herself in his shoes. She knew he would always push her away whenever she tried to ease his worries and work. Their first fight was entirely based on that.

She learned that this man was a tough nut to crack, too cold and too bothered, and she learned this the hard way.

How long will he stay like this? The thoughts haunted her. No matter how much she ignored him, she couldn't ignore the fact that this man was indeed special. Like is meant for her.

Was it worth giving up? Was he worth fighting for? Does he even reciprocate her feelings? Her mind was going crazy with horrific hypothesizes, when Mukhesh came back.

His eyes met hers and he regretted calling her off. It was strange, how he would feel regret when he hurt her, especially when he thought his heart had long back forgotten how to feel.

"I-I'm sorry! I just ..." She looked at him, intently listening. "I don't like others helping me"

Nita let out a sigh. Of course, he won't. "Well, you should change that"

Mukhesh raised his eyebrow. "Excuse me?"

"You should stop being this cold and cranky! Learn to accept the fact that you need others when you are hurt! It doesn't give you cancer you know?" Mukhesh was almost defensive until he watched the determination in her eyes.

"How long will you push people away? Some people care for you! And you should be kind to them. This life can't be lived all by yourself!" She stared at him.

"Care for me? I barely know anyone who cares for me" He taunted.

"Then you are blind" Her nostrils flared, as she turned away. Mukhesh grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to him.

"Why don't you show me? The people who care for me" His breath feathered her face as she watched him wide-eyed.

"Siya cares for you, do you want me to show her picture to you?"

"Only her?" He smirked.

"You are blind, Mukhesh" She tried to move away, careful to not hurt his other injured hand.

"How?" Mukesh exclaimed.

"I ! I Care for you! Can't you see it? Did you lose your eyesight too?" She fumed, glaring at the man.

At that moment, nothing mattered. Mukhesh was suddenly taken aback by her words. She looked angry, yet he could see she was worried for him. And the fact warmed his heart. The tired eyes still glint in them as they watched him in fury. And the sight was lovely to behold.
