Standing before Taesan's door, I questioned my impulsive decision to drive there. My mind was still a jumbled mess, and I had almost hit someone on the way, which made me realize how lost in thought I had been.

I struggled to gather my emotions and thoughts as I tried to make sense of the situation.

My heart was pounding so hard that I could feel it in my chest as I lifted my hand to knock on the door.

However, as I was about to make contact, my hand hesitated midway. Doubts and insecurities flooded my mind, making me second-guess my plan. I felt like I was on the edge of a cliff, and the slightest push could make me fall.

Despite my fears, I knew I couldn't back out now. I had come this far, and I had to follow through with my plan. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and steeled myself for what was coming next.

I took a deep breath and gathered my courage before finally knocking twice. From inside the room, I heard Taesan's voice shout, "Coming!"

As I waited, I reminded myself to stay calm and not let Taesan push me around. I knew I could always leave if things got too uncomfortable or he made me uneasy.

After what felt like an eternity, I heard the door unlocking. Taesan greeted me with a warm smile as he opened the door. "Oh, Minji! It's so good to see you," he said, his eyes lighting up with genuine joy.

As soon as Taesan opened the door to his apartment, I greeted him warmly. He motioned me inside and, with a curious expression, asked me the reason for my visit.

I hesitated momentarily, unsure of how to express my feelings. After collecting my thoughts, I replied, "I just wanted to talk to you. It's been a while since we had a chance to catch up." I scolded myself for being vague but couldn't reveal my true intentions.

"Oh, I see," he responded, his eyes still fixed on me, "What do you want to talk about, Minji?" Taesan was intrigued by my sudden appearance and asked me about it.

I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment as I struggled to find the right words. "I haven't thought about that yet," I replied, hoping my evasiveness would not arouse suspicion.

Taesan asked me how my class was going, and I shrugged in response. I didn't feel like anything exciting had happened recently.

As we talked, I wondered if I should tell him about Danielle, but I decided it was too early to bring it up. I reminded myself to keep things light and casual, just small talk.

Taesan seemed to sense my hesitation and spoke up, "Yeah, I know what you mean. Classes have been pretty dull lately. After the back-to-school rave, it's just... yeah, boring."

Something was on his mind, so I waited for him to continue. He looked down at his feet and hesitated before finally speaking up.

As I sat there in silence, I couldn't help but feel anxious. Taesan was with me in the room, but he hadn't spoken a word for what felt like an eternity.

Eventually, he took a deep breath, and I turned to look at him, trying to read his expression. "Minji, I have a question," he finally said, his voice barely above a whisper, and he avoided making eye contact with me.

My heart started to race, and my initial instinct was to leave the room, but I managed to compose myself and decided to hear him out. "Okay, go ahead and ask," I replied, trying to sound as organized as possible despite the anxiety that was starting to build up inside me.
