As Minji gathered all her belongings, she hurriedly made her way out of Taesan's apartment. She barely had time to bid farewell to her friend before her thoughts were consumed by the looming dread of being late for work.

Her boss, a considerably older woman, was notorious for her strict punctuality policies. She considered delay to be a grave sin that couldn't be overlooked. Minji had never comprehended this notion, leaving her bewildered and uneasy.

Minji felt quite nervous as her work shift was about to start in just five minutes. She frantically hit the elevator button and waited impatiently for the elevator to arrive.

However, surprisedly, when she looked up, she saw a sign that read "Out of Order" hanging on the elevator door. She felt a sinking feeling in her stomach as she realized she had no choice but to take the stairs.

Minji was already running late, and this unexpected incident added more stress to her night. She started cursing under her breath, feeling annoyed and frustrated by all the misfortunes happening to her right now.

Minji jumped when she heard a voice behind her. "Need a ride to the diner?" the voice said. Startled, Minji whipped her head around to see the Person she had been avoiding for a while - Hanni Pham. "H-hanni?" Minji said in shock.

Hanni shook her head, her expression serious. "Don't ask questions, let's go." Without waiting for a response, Hanni grabbed Minji's arm and dragged her to the other side of the hallway.

Minji is still confused about why Hanni suddenly showed up and offered to help her. She couldn't help but ask, "Wait, Hanni. Do you live in this building?" Hanni turned to face Minji, her eyes flashing with impatience.

"I said no questions, Min, just trying to help you here." Hanni pressed the button on the elevator, and Minji heard a faint ding signaling that the elevator was on its way. "There's an elevator here?" she asked in shock. Hanni chuckled.

"You didn't know that?" she asked, her tone teasing. Minji shook her head, feeling more confused than ever. What was going on? As the elevator doors opened, Hanni and Minji stepped inside. Minji took a deep breath before turning to Hanni and asking,

"Can I ask you something, Hanni?" Hanni, noticing the severe expression on Minji's face, braced herself for what was to come. "Depends. If it's about High School, I'm not answering," she replied, trying to lighten the mood.

However, Minji's disappointment was evident. Taking a deep breath, She decided to ask her question anyway.

Before getting a word out, Hanni said, "I have a question, Minji; why do you look so messy?" Hanni couldn't help but notice the messy state of Minji's hair and wrinkled clothes.

Minji's face turned red with embarrassment as she stammered out a response, "I-what? I was just in a rush." Hanni could tell that Minji felt uncomfortable, so she quickly changed the subject.

Hanni and Minji exited the building in a hurry, their footsteps echoing in the empty lobby. They rushed out onto the chilly street.

With a sense of urgency, Minji pulled out her phone and checked the time, her face contorting with disappointment as she sighed.

"Forget it, Hanni. I'm already late," she said, her voice tinged with worry about the consequences of being late for work. But Hanni was not one to give up easily.

"No, Minji, don't worry. It'll be fine," she said, grabbing Minji's hand and pulling her closer as they hurried towards her car. "I'll get you there in no time." Despite Hanni's reassurances, Minji remained unconvinced.
