"It's aptitude test time so listen up! There's no place for you here if you cannot preform!"Shadis's booming voice said
"Fail! And you'll be shipped to the feilds!"
Jean stood amongst the crowds with a bored expression waiting for his turn, maybe he'd be able to find that mystery girl from yesterday after this, he thought as he started to remember her face
"Hey" a feminine voice from behind his said making him jump slightly as he turned to see the same girl he was just thinking about
"Oh! Hello!" He said, mentally cringing at how nerdy he sounded
"You're jean kirstien right?" Adina questioned "She knows my name! She knows my name!" Jean thought
"Uhm, yeah. What do you need?" He asked as she showed him her equipment "Shadis assigned us to be partners, so we have to assist each other in putting on our gear" Adina stated
"Oh! Yeah sure!" Jean stated as the two made their way towards a free wire
"I never got your name," Jean said as he watched the girl balance effortlessly on the 3d manoeuvring gear
"Adina Alves" She answered as Shadis congratulated her on being able to balance, there was a natural sharpness in her voice that only seemed to draw jean towards her even more
"What regiment do you wanna join?" Jean asked, trying to get to know her as she helped him adjust his gear, he could feel his face heat up from their close proximity only making his voice more high pitched
"Not too sure, but probably the military police" Adina hummed "So your aiming for the top eleven aswell!" He asked with a smirk
"Yeah, you are too aren't you? You want a nice life in the interior away from the titans" Adina stated "You bet, don't tell me your like Yeager over there" Jean sighed
"Nah, I respect that choice, it's the most reasonable one." Adina answered making jeans eyes go wide, he'd been called a coward, lazy and even stuck up for his choice of regiment but now someone actually agreed with him
"Done" She said as she watched jean at first struggle to balance but eventually get the hang of it
"Thanks" he said as a sudden thud was heard both of them turning to see eren upside down. Damn..

"Please Adina, you were really good at balancing , I saw you!" Eren pleaded trying to convince her to help him before dinner with mikasa and armin
"Okay fine.." she said making his eyes light up "I'll come help you out before dinner" Adina sighed
Unfortunately, he still failed and ended up banging his head on the floor
"Don't worry eren there's still tomorrow" Adina said awkwardly trying to cheer him up by patting his back as everyone made fun of him before going to sit with Christa and Ymir, annie was feeling home sick, something that both girls had experienced and when Annie was usually going through it she liked to be alone
