Sharpies POV:
Friday nights are always super busy in hospital. As of tonight I am working in the ER and it has been hectic. I was glad it was hectic at first because it was keeping my mind off the championship game that was going on right now, but now it seems that all the people are talking about is the stupid game.
Finally it was my break and I went outside and sat at one of the picnic tables. I crinkled my nose at the smell of cigarette smoke and cheap perfume.
My head was pounding and I still have six hours left in my shift. Don't get me wrong I love my job, but it is a very demanding job. And seeing that I have gotten little sleep over the past week because of a certain basketball player with a rich boy attitude.
Why am I having the thoughts? I have a boyfriend for goodness sakes! A very nice and caring boyfriend to be exact.
James knows very little about my past. He doesn't known about the bullying, suicide attempt, or Danger and feelings towards him.
This is all so crazy and stupid. Danger is nothing to me now and I need to remember that.
My watch beeped telling me it was time to get back to work. I got up and stretched before returning to the ER.
A little while later in my shift I was at the nurses station typing in a patient's information.
"Sharpie, you have a patient in room six. He is a feisty one too.Good luck" I nodded my head and thanked the fellow nurse before heading my way over there.
At the door I noticed a big bulky guy appeared to be guarding the door. No one has a body guard unless they are famous or of importance usually. What if Johnny Depp is in there?
Ok now I am just being ridiculous.
I grabbed the chart and walked in the room. Before looking at the patient I flipped open the patient's chart.
Ok let's see. Then my heart and body seemed to freeze right then and there.
Patient: Garrett Pendland
Basketball related injury.I gulped and slowly looked up. It was indeed him. Why me and why him? Why couldn't it just have been Johnny Depp?
"Are you just going to stand there all day or are you going to fix me?" I had never heard Danger speak with such a tone, but it was clear he didn't recognize me yet.
I grew closer and spoke, "Sorry Sir. My name is nurse Plouse and I will be taking care of you. I will be doing the normal evaluation before I send you of to x rays if needed. Let's begin. Can you tell me what happened?"
I sat on the stool and waited for him to start his story. I lifted my head and finally let my eyes connect with his. His eyes were narrowed in concentration.
He shook his head and began his story, "I was running up the court to do a lay up, but then some idiot from the other team rammed into me and I fell to the ground. Its clear that I twisted my ankle. Is that a good enough explanation or do I need to continue our story time?"
I gritted my teeth and refrained for commenting on his sarcastic attitude. I got up and quickly finished up my evaluation without punching him in his face.
"By the looks of the swelling and bruising that is starting to form, I would stay that you have fractured your ankle. I am going to send you off to the x ray room and we will go from there. If there is anything you need just let someone know and we can get it for you, Mr. Pendland." After I explained my findings, I quickly gathered my things and prepared to leave the room when a hand shot out to stop me.
