Chapter 54- The Last Goodbye....

The Attack Titan and the Armored faced off against one another amidst the rubble of the plaza.

Gabi: (Leaning out the window more) Reiner!

The two Titans crouched slightly before pushing forward, bursting into a sprint towards their opponent. The Attack let out a roar as they drew closer to one another. Reiner threw a jab at the Attack's head, which he easily dodged. The Attack then threw a punch of his own with his hardened fist, crushing Reiner's weak face plating and blasting a hole through the Armor's face.

The Armored Titan was sent flying back with such force that it kicked up wind, blowing past Mikasa and Leon as they watched atop his lifeless Titan. The Armored crashed into the wrecked building with a cloud of debris and smoke.

Even when it appeared like it was a clear win for the Attack, Leon spotted what Reiner was trying to do from the start. Clutched tightly in the Armor's hand was the Jaw Titan. He had rushed at the Attack, knowing he wasn't going to win but did it to save Porco.

The Attack stared at the Armored for a few more seconds before its head slumped and its neck started to steam.

Leon: I guess... that's it then.

Mikasa: In that case, let's go home... (Looking away saddened, grabbing her elbow) That is if you wanted to.

Leon looked at Eren emerging from the nape of his Titan, then to the building he had watched Pieck get hauled into by Falco and Gabi. The life he had lived here for a year has come to a close. It was time he went back to the life he had left.

Leon: (Looking up at Mikasa) Of course, I do, Mikasa.

Mikasa looked back at Leon, uncertainty in her eyes. A battle of emotions was raging behind those dark pools, and Leon wasn't sure what she was going to decide on in the end.

Mikasa grabbed Leon and used her ODM gear to zip away towards the airship that was passing by. Leon glanced back to see Eren get picked up by a Scout and follow in their direction.

The doors to the airship were open, letting in any Scout that was retreating. A back hatch to the compartment opened, and a large Gatling gun sprung out. Luther was currently standing behind it, his large figure silhouetted by the lights from inside. He opened fire onto any Marleyan soldier who tried to pick the Scouts off as they were leaving.

Jean and a group of Scouts stayed below, helping Luther out with the cleanup.

Jean: Protect the airship from below! Use every last shot you've got!

Gabi, Falco, and Koslow were watching the Scouts fall back to the airship.

Koslow: They're retreating... Does this mean we're safe?

Gabi: (Shocked) They're running.

Gabi watched as the people responsible for Zofia's and Udo's death got away. The thought of Eren leaving caused her blood to boil and burst with rage. Clenching her jaw, Gabi turned, grabbed her rifle and bolted down the stairs.

Falco turned and watched his friend and crush run off with the rifle she had brought with her.

Falco: (Chasing after Gabi) Gabi!

Gabi: (Exiting the building and running towards the retreating airship) Eren Jaeger!

Falco: (Trying to catch up to the angry girl) Gabi!

Gabi: (Seething) You won't get away! I'm gonna kill you!

The Scouts were swinging below the airship, firing off their guns at any Marleyan soldier they spotted, with aid from Luther at the Gatling gun.
