As the battle continued to rage nearby, with Titans and Yeagerists clashing fiercely, Armin watched as Connie stared in horror at the bodies of Samuel and Daz. The weight of his actions pressed heavily on Armin, but he knew it was a necessary decision. Steeling himself, he placed a reassuring hand on Connie's shoulder.
Armin: We have to go, Connie. Our friends need us.
Connie looked up at Armin, his eyes filled with a mix of shock, grief, and confusion. The sight of his friend's resolve, however, helped him gather his strength. He nodded slowly, realizing the urgency of their situation and the greater purpose they were fighting for.
Armin: Let's get the ship prepped so we can leave as soon as the Azumabito get here.
Connie: Right.
With a final glance at the fallen Yeagerists, Connie followed Armin onto the ship. The sound of the ongoing battle faded slightly as they focused on their new task.
The King Titan charged up a small blast, vaporizing a few Yeagerists in an instant. The Female Titan snatched a Yeagerist from the air, hurling him into a nearby building and ending his life. The Armored Titan bulldozed through a group of Yeagerists, crushing three against the side of a structure.
Inside the King Titan, Leon's frustration grew.
Leon (Inside Titan): Where are they? We can't keep this up forever.
A Yeagerist appeared midair behind the King Titan, aiming for a fatal strike. However, the Female Titan reacted swiftly, swatting the attacker away like an insect. Leon turned to her and gave her a nod, a silent gesture of gratitude for her timely intervention.
King Titan: Thanks.
The Female Titan responded with a brief nod of her own before turning back to the ongoing battle. The intensity of the fight showed no signs of abating, and each second felt like an eternity. The trio of Titans continued their relentless assault.
In the dimly lit basement, Hange, Magath, and Jean listened in stunned silence to the Azumabito engineers. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on them.
Hange: Please tell me you're not serious.
Azumabito #1: Unfortunately, we are. The maintenance for the ship would normally take us a day, but with our proper equipment, we could potentially get it done in half a day.
Magath's expression turned grim, his mind racing through the implications.
Magath: Half a day? We can't hold this place for that long! Reinforcements will arrive soon, and even with the Shifters and our forces, we couldn't hold them off for a few hours, let alone half a day.
Hange's face was a mask of frustration and despair.
Hange: We've acted too late. The Colossal Titans are advancing faster than we anticipated. Based on what I've seen, The Rumbling will obliterate the world in four days... six at best.
The room fell into a heavy silence as the reality of their predicament sank in. The distant sounds of the ongoing battle echoed through the basement, a stark reminder of the relentless threat looming over them.
Hange: Even if we stopped Eren using our best options, Liberio will have already fallen.
Jean clenched his fists, his mind racing. Remembering the people he spent time with in Liberio.
Jean: There has to be another way. We can't just give up. We need to think of something—anything.
Magath's expression remained grim as he considered the enormity of their task.
