(Caitlin's POV)

Cisco and I worked day and night to come up with a cure that would be safe to administer on a human. It had taken us a month. Once we had a cure that was safe, I started working on the device we needed to actually inject it.

The dark matter in the body was in the pituitary gland and once the cure was given, it took at least one minute for the cure to take effect. We had everything in order except for a human trial to make sure it was safe. We also had to present everything to the team. So we called the whole team to the cortex to present it.

"We have a working cure." Cisco said, grinning and holding up the vial for everyone to see. "It needs a month before it's ready."

There was that too. It was a working cure but it needed time before it was actually ready to be used.

"What? We don't have a month. Cicada is out there killing and getting stronger every day that we wait." Barry said, shaking his head.

"It still needs to be tested on a human meta to even see if it works." I said softly. "Someone willing."

Barry looked over at me for a split second before his eyes were back on Cisco. It hurt just a little bit not to have his attention.

"You could always tell him you spent the whole time working with Cisco as your time to process and work through everything. You aren't overwhelmed anymore."

I shook my head. It didn't feel like the right time. It took Cisco and I almost a full month to work on this cure. A full month of barely being in contact with Barry. What if he had moved on? What if he decided he didn't want to be with me anymore?

"Would Nora and Dawn still be here if he didn't still want to be with you?"

She did have a valid point.

"So we need to find someone willing to take this cure." Barry shrugged, keeping his eyes on Cisco.

"We could try and find someone." Dawn offered up. "I don't know how we would though. We can't really broadcast it, if it doesn't work people would be devastated."

I looked over at Cisco and noticed the determined look on his face.

"Cisco?" I asked softly. He looked over at me, giving me a sad smile. "No."

"I want to test the cure." Cisco offered up.

"What?" Barry gasped out. Both Nora and Dawn were sharing a look, like they knew that this was going to happen already. "Cisco, you'd be giving up your powers."

"I know man, but while the shards were in my hands, it was kind of nice having a break from my prowers. It just made me realize that I don't want to have these powers forever. That I want a peaceful life where I don't leave my family wondering if I'm going to be coming back or not." Cisco said honestly. I could feel myself tearing up a bit, but I nodded.
