Kaya

I made it to the school as fast as I could. It wasn't easy entering the premises of the most prestigious school during after hours, especially since the town had a new curfew. I had to park my car somewhere down the road and then I snuck inside, staying wary of the guard. I held the money in my pocket where it would be safe and headed to the school hall. There I waited for the kidnapper.

I didn't try calling that number because I had a feeling I won't reach the caller. I didn't like any of this. It felt as if I was just a chess piece on someone's board game. Whether I was going to regret complying to his ransom, was something I was about to find out very soon.

"Impressive. You made it," at last someone walked in through the western entrance of the school hall.

"Kaya!" my screamed and tried running to me, but he tugged on what looked like a rope and then she fell hard to the floor.

"Let her go!" I shouted and he raised a finger.

"One word out of your mouth and I will blow a bullet through her brain!"

"I have the money. Release her already..." I pleaded.

The man looked at my hand where I carried the money and then pointed his gun at me. "Bring that here. Now."

"Okay..." slowly and very carefully I walked towards him.

I couldn't understand any of this. He looked like a man in his fifties, not the usual thug you'd find in the streets. He was also just dressed in a casual outfit and didn't even bother concealing his face. Something didn't feel right.

If any kidnapper was about to collect a ransom and they intended on just taking the money, they would do anything to cover their tracks. He wasn't planning on taking the money. I stopped right there in my tracks.

"Bring. The. Money." he pointed the gun at my mother again.

I needed to think fast, so I did the first thing that came to my mind. I threw the stack of cash at his face, the money scattering into the air like feathers. As I thought he would react, he flinched and covered his face. I then tackled him, pinning him and trying to take the gun from his hands.

"Damn you!" he trashed on the ground trying to aim the gun at me.

"Kaya!" luckily my mother wasn't just standing around and actually aided me as well. Even with her wrists tied behind her back, she stood up and kicked him in the nuts.

It was enough to make him lose his grip and then I tossed the gun across the floor, far out of his reach.

"Mom, go and get help!"

"What about you?!"

"I got this under control!"

Surprisingly I did have this under control. I was just an omega and could very much tell this man was a beta, yet his struggle to overpower me was futile. I was holding him pinned to the ground all on my own. My mom quickly got up to her feet and ran out the school hall to go and get help.

The man started laughing. "You're a marked one. This hasn't been possible for over a hundred years. You are the chosen one."

"Shut up!" I was annoyed, he made me go through all that trouble. I had to even lie to my own mate. Wolfe was probably pissed as hell at me.

He kept laughing and I was patiently waiting. At the same time the adrenaline had left my system and once again I felt extremely hot. This time it became worst and felt like my body was on fire. I was starting to sweat a lot, breathing heavily as I began all over my body.

It then dawned upon me that I was going in heat.
