Chapter 4 ~~ Inspiration

Gemma was sitting in her lab, trying to create the Perrpetual Petz prototype. 

She was feeling bad, because of not spending time with Cady, but she knew that she has to do this, so both she and her niece wouldn't have any problems. 

Suddenly she stopped working. She thought of something. She looked back at the huge box in which was her dearest secret project. She decided to talk to M3GAN. 

Gemma came to the box and opened it, getting the doll out then. She stood her in front of herself and looked at her. 

- M3GAN, turn on. - she asked. M3GAN did turn on. 

- Yes, Gemma? 

The woman grew sad. 

- M3GAN, I'm so sorry for using you, but... I need your help. 

The doll nodded with understanding. 

- I'm okay with that, you don't have to worry about me. Tell me what's bothering you. 

Gemma sighed. 

- It's just that... I've got two problems. The first one is actually connected to the sencond one. 

- Go ahead. 

- Less than a week ago I got an info that my sister, Nicole... is dead. She orphened her 8-year-old daughter, Cady... and I took care of her. I'm trying to support Cady and do what's best for her, but... the problem is that I have to do this Petz prototype for David, or I can be in a lot of trouble. I don't want Cady to feel bad. Besides, I'm not sure if I can handle taking care of Cady and I don't want to loose her. Can you take care of her, when I'll be working on the prototype? I need her to be happy and safe while I'm not able to be there for her. Can you do that? 

The doll smiled. 

- Of course, Gemma. You are my primary user, but I can have also a secondary user. Your niece can be her. Can I take care also of you? I'm sorry about your loss. You told me about your sister. You miss her so much, do you? 

Gemma nodded with tears in her eyes. 

- Yes, I do. Thank you. 

M3GAN hugged Gemma and she hugged her back. 

- Give Cady what I'm not able to give to her. - the woman asked. 

M3GAN nodded. 

- Yeah. I can help you with making the Petz model and then I can pair with Cady in your office. What do you think? 

Gemma brightened up. Her doll was really smart and helpful. She couldn't tell how grateful she was for this.
