Goodness me, I haven't updated this book in over a month–

Uh... hey everyone! I've been so busy with schoolwork and exams lately, and I've had so little motivation to draw at all, let alone for myself. So, I do apologise for the lack of uploads for such a long time.

Good news though: I am working on Crystal's new and improved reference sheet! Because, gosh, the last (and only) one is so old, inaccurate and badly drawn, I just had to make another. I'm only on ths sketching and basic shapes stage right now, but I still though I should you guys know. In case anyone's still interested ^^

Anyway, a Whyvarian species!

A while back, a long long while it's been, I asked you viewers what kind of gryphons you'd like to see out of the ones I had created for Whyvaria. The most popular one was the genus Tazthris, with tropical birds.

So, I decided to finally get on to drawing one of the genus' species! And here it is!

It turned out alright I guess, considering how little experience I have drawing birds. I could have drawn more feathers around the rump and back, but this was more of a sketch or a rough draft than a final species piece.

Here's a distribution map of the species' range across Whyvaria:

They're mostly concentrated around tropical/humid riverbanks and wetlands, but there's a decent number that live in the (riparian areas of) savannahs

Most commonly, these gryphons are referred to as ge'acyrd gryphons, but hoatzin-cheetah gryphons or just hoatzin gryphons are also names used for them.

I'm not excessively proud of the design, to be honest. All the ombres and feathers were fun to do, but otherwise, it was so-so.

I hope you all like it though!
Thank you to all those who are still here, even with sparse updates.
Have a wonderful rest of your day/night everyone, goodbye! <33
