*Landon’s POV*
I watched Zoey bounce down the hall next to Amanda and Macy. I shook my head and laughed at her enthusiasm. She seemed to be coming back out of her shell but I knew better than to trust it just yet. I could feel her emotions all over the board through the bond we held. I don’t know if she was aware of them or not but I knew not to doubt her just yet. She was just starting to let herself feel everything after the last few years of bottling it all up. I was pulled out of my thoughts by a voice calling my name.
‘Landon, you’re doing it again.’ Brad said through our mind link.
I raised my eyebrow confused. ‘You have the Zoey look again.’ He laughed.
I rolled my eyes at him and shrugged. The girls opened the door to the theater we would be watching the movie in.
I couldn’t help but notice a strange smell in the air but I brushed it off. I knew it was from werewolves but I also knew that there were a lot in this town so I didn’t think too much about it. We choose out sets near the back. The girls were laughing as we sat down. Zoey started passing out the snacks to everyone. She was too cute. She seemed at peace with herself. The room slowly started to fill up and the girls started to lower their voices. When the credits started Zoey said she needed to go to the bathroom and excused herself.
I wasn’t really paying much attention to the screen in front of me as my thoughts were pulled away. I kicked my foot up on the chair in front of me and tried to get comfy in these god awful seats. I was still reeling from Zoey’s earlier attack. It was taking more than I thought it would for me to hold back. Her scent hit me as soon as I rounded the car. I knew she was watching me but I was still trying to figure out how she beat me here. I knew she could drive but I didn’t know she could drive like that. I was still amazed at how much I was learning about her every day. She seemed to be opening up to me more and more. I knew we were close before but there were still things I didn’t know about her.
When I looked up and met her eyes, I was stunned. I hardly ever see a graceful move out of her but I watched in awe as she stood up, stepped on the car door and dropped down to the ground without breaking eye contact with me. I smiled as she approached me; I felt her wolf close to the surface and knew my wolf sensed it. It took all I had to shove him back down. There was no way I would miss this, even for a moment. When she was close enough I snagged her up and crashed my lips with hers. Her body was pressed to mine as she molded herself to me. My wolf was crawling his way out as she deepened the kiss. When she jumped up and wrapped herself closer to me I realized her temperature had risen a good 5 degrees. It took me a split second to remember she was still in heat. I gently broke the kiss and pressed my forehead to hers. The small whimper that left her lips was almost enough for me to give in to her again.
“Shorty, Pet, not that I’m complaining but do you really think here is the best place for this?” I asked her putting emphases on the word here. I struggled with my wolf as he chanted in my head. Yes, take her I ignored him.
She let go of me and dropped down to the ground, eyes wide. “I’m sorry” She whispered softly. Her voice was strained and husky. I stayed planted in place as she pulled the keys out of her car along with her bag and ran to the doors. Amanda and Macy followed her after throwing me a sideways glance.
“What the fuck was that?” Ryan asked.
“Trust me when I say, You DON’T want to know” I replied. It took all I had not to chase her. I didn’t know if she would be able to calm herself back down but I sure as fuck hoped so. We started walking when she was out of sight inside the building.
I followed her scent to the restrooms and we waited when Amanda’s panicked voice rippled through my head. ‘Landon something’s wrong.’
Fuck she can’t calm her wolf. ‘Go, I’ll take care of it.’ I told them. I turned to Ryan and Brad who were talking quietly. “Why don’t you guys take the girls and get something to eat.” I told them. Their eyes flashed to the bathroom door then back to me. “I got it, Go” I told them as I turned to walk to the door.
