Taylor's POV (December 19th)
It has been almost 2 weeks... but to be exact it's been 13 days, 19 hours, and 22 minutes since the kidnapping. I spent my 34th birthday in this hospital room. No cake, no party, no company. Just Travis and sleeping Chloe. Chloe has been in a coma the whole time. The doctors are slowly giving up hope. They said that she's so young and young people normally wake up from a coma faster. But I have faith that she will wake up. She has to wake up. She has to live longer than me. She has to meet her baby siblings. My bump is growing like crazy. I'm 13 weeks along with twins and the babies are the size of 2 peaches. Curled up on a hospital couch is not how I thought I'd start my second trimester. But here I am, living through a mothers worst fears."Taylor, you need to eat something," I hear my fiancé say from the other side of the room. "I don't want to." He sighs, "Honey, you're pregnant, with twins, you need to eat." I groan, "Fine, go get me peanut butter and a pickle." He leaves the room without a protest. He is constantly trying to take care of me while also focusing on Chloe waking up. I have written so many songs while being here. Ideas are starting to come every couple minutes. I even wrote a song about peanut butter. Trust me, that song will never see the light of day.
I hold Chloe's fragile hand, as I softly start to sing more lyrics that pop into my head:
I've been waiting here so hopeful, my love,
For you to rise from your slumber, just like a dove.
These hospital walls, they've held my thoughts,
But I know deep within, we'll find a brand new plot.Oh, the hours have turned to days, and the days to weeks
But I won't lose hope, for I know life's touch
I'll keep whispering sweet words, playing melodies of love,
Hoping that one day soon, you'll wake up, my precious dove.Oh, won't you wake up, my daughter, and see the sun?
The world is waiting for you, our journey has just begun.
From the pain and darkness, into the warm embrace of light,
Come back to me, my angel, let's chase away the night.Every night I've sat by your side,
Holding your hand, singing melodies that glide
I imagine a future where you blossom and grow,
Where your laughter fills the room, like soft flakes of snow.Though the road may be uncertain, and the tears have flowed,
I've engraved your name in my heart,
For every note I play, every word I write,
Is a testament to our bond, one that transcends space and time.Oh, won't you wake up, my daughter, and see the sun?
The world is waiting for you, our journey has just begun.
From the pain and darkness, into the warm embrace of light,
Come back to me, my angel, let's chase away the night. In the depths of my soul, I still hear your laughter,
In dreams, we dance and sing, forever after.
I'm painting a picture of us in vibrant hues,
Where every color shines, and every dream comes true.Oh, won't you wake up, my daughter, and see the sun?
The world is waiting for you, our journey has just begun.
From the pain and darkness, into the warm embrace of light,
Come back to me, my angel, let's chase away the night. So sleep no more, my darling, it's time to find your way,
Through the hurdles and the struggles, we'll make it day by day.
With love as our guide, we'll conquer every storm,
Until you open your eyes and find your place, reborn. As I end the song I feel a weak squeeze to my hand. I look up at Chloe as I see her eyes flutter open. Tears escape my eyes and I call in a doctor once Chloe tries to fight the machines making her breathe. The doctors take them off and she calms down, looking around. "Where am I?" She asks confused. "You're in the hospital baby, there was an accident of sorts." She furrows her eyebrows, "Who are you?" I look at her calmly, "I'm Taylor." She looks at the ceiling for a few moments then back at me, "You're my mommy, right?" I nod, "Yes." She looks around, "Am I gonna be okay?" I nod, "You woke up, so you should be okay."
"Woke up? How long was I out?" She asks me. "13 days." She bites her lip, "13... 13... why does that sound familiar?" My lips dare to curl into a smile but they don't, they won't, they can't, not yet. "13 is my lucky number, my birthday." She nods, "What day is it?" I look at her, "December 19th?" A sob suddenly escapes her lungs, "I missed your birthday, I couldn't give you your present, you spent your birthday in a hospital. I'm sorry mommy I'm so sorry." I look at her, guilt seeping through both of our fragile souls. I climb in her bed carefully and pull her close, "None of that matters to me. All that matters is you are here, and you're awake. I have my baby girl, what more could I possibly need?" She calms down against me.
Travis walks in, "I got your.." all words are lost when he notices Chloe. "Omg, Chloe, you're awake." She looks at him confused, "Who are you?" He just answers her calmly, "I'm Travis." Chloe groans, "I don't know a Travis." He thinks, "I'm Travis Kelce, the football player." She looks even more confused, "what's football?" That scares me, football is one of her favorite things. "It's a sport. Uh.. I'm your mommy's fiancé." Chloe sighs, "I don't remember you, I'm sorry." He nods, "That's okay sweetheart." I can tell it hurts him to see her like this. She can't remember much and it's heartbreaking. I just want her little mind to be at peace.
"Mommy.." Chloe looks at me weirdly, "Why are you fat? I don't remember you very good, but I know my mommy wasn't fat." I know she means no harm. She doesn't actually think I'm fat. This isn't my Chloe, she's not saying that. It's not true... it's not true. She doesn't remember anything, she doesn't mean it. Travis is quick to blurt out, "Chloe!" I shake my head, "No she's okay. She's just curious, no need to yell at her." I look at Chloe, "Mommy is pregnant remember?" Chloe shakes her head, "I don't remember anything right now." I just sigh. "Im gonna have two babies. You're gonna be a big sister." Chloe just nods and smiles. I carefully lay in bed with her and cuddle her close.
A couple hours later Chloe wakes up from a nap as a doctor comes in to check on her. She looks around then sees Travis, "Daddy is Joe gone?" The doctor smiles, "Her memory is back, that's great!" Chloe looks at the doctor confused then back at Travis as he nods and grabs her hand. "Joe is long gone, forever princess." She smiles, "Good because I wanna be with you and mommy forever. Where's Jay?" Travis looks at me then back at Chloe, "Jayden is at his house in Ohio." Chloe starts crying, "I want Jayden." I smile at her, "I'll call him and get him on a plane okay?" She nods, "Thank you mommy."
She's awake and her memory is back. Everything's gonna be okay.
