Once upon a time, "Five Nights at Freddy's Fans" could be fairly certain that the Purple Guy's identity was probably the phone guy. After all, Matthew Patrick made a pretty convincing argument on his final Game Theorist video for the series.
Unfortunately however, all previous notions were somewhat eliminated when "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" was announced.
Once again, fans are developing theories as to who the mysterious Purple Guy (or Purple Man) is. With the most recent "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" teaser, the guys at 8-Bit Gaming have developed a new theory about the Purple Guy, and his relationship to the briefly mentioned but much theorized about, Fredbear's Family Diner.
"This theory is suggesting that this purple hat and purple bowtie may be a direct link to the purple man, or purple killer. And maybe that the killer is the actually the owner of Fredbear's Diner," said Other Ryan.
The evidence for their theory is two things: first, the timing in which Phone guy talks about Fredbear's Family Diner, and secondly, the purple color and "Property of FR" in the latest teaser. Basically, the Ryan's theorize that since the Purple guy knows the layout (including the secret rooms) of Fredbear's Family Diner in the death mini games, it seems likely that he worked there.
Unfortunately for their theory, there's still some uncertainty of how this all relates to The Bite Of 87, which has been teased in all previous images, including a number 87 in Nightmare Foxy's eye. It has been assumed since the second "Five Night's at Freddy's" game that The Bite Of 87 occurred after the initial murders at Fredbear's Family Diner.
As with every theory, there's no certainty until the alleged final game is released. The "Five Nights At Freddy's 4" release date is set for October 31.
