And let my cry come unto thee

Oh sweet God of noise in my Skull

reverberations of synapses long abandoned

melodies of addiction, affliction, infection

Burhole to bloodlet the badlands of my cortex

Temperance, darling, temperance

Oh that noonday demon roosts in my meninges

forked tongue dipped in pools of dopamine

sucking the marrow of my serotonin

clawed fingertips taunting and tugging

deeper, deeper still for cortisol

And of tricycles and trapezists

and fairy-cake, fingerpaints, better days

Softer nights, televisions drawing out

the dispassion and decomposition in my living room

Et clamor meus ad te veniat

Caritas, humiliates, gratia, castus

Castus, Cast us aside, slash and burn

the roots of my cerebrum, torch these memories

engulf my past and silence, silence at last

And let my cry come unto thee
