Alex's Point Of View

Me and Lily was decorating the living room with Christmas decorations, I was sitting on the floor in front of the standing tree as I put the lights on the tree, while trying to make sure not to move my ankle too much since it's still broken

She has given me permission to come out of my room to decorate her house, I was happy that I could come out of my room and interact with her instead of her coming in and interacting with me since my ankle is broken, and she doesn't want me to get even more hurt than I already was

I tried my best to put on the lights as Lily was out of the house, she went to go out and get some food and other supplies since we are possibly going to be in a snow storm on Christmas eve, and we are possibly going to be snowed in so she wants to be prepared when that happens, which means that I'm here, all alone

I let out a soft groan as I gotten up on my knees as I put the lights higher up on the tree, there was soft Christmas music playing in the living room in the otherwise still and quiet house, but it is nothing that I am used to when I lived back at my parents house, and when I am up in the bedroom upstairs

As the lights needed to go higher on the tree, the more that I have to put more pressure on my foot, I let out a shaky breath as I stood up, trying to put some pressure on it, it was bearable, but I couldn't stand or walk on it too much, I bet Lily will be happy to know that I am slowly growing better

I shift most of my weight to my other leg as I continued to put on the lights, I wobbled a bit as It went higher until there was no room left, I let out a relieved sigh as I sat back down on the floor to rest my ankle

I leaned back slightly as I tilted my head back as I closed my eyes, the lights were straining my eyes since I'm so close and have been working with them for fifteen minutes, plus, I have been growing accustomed to the darkness of my room at this time

She has even let me have my laptop, that she had got me a couple of days back before Christmas break started since we've been starting to do online school until the new year in which the school will be opened back up to the students and faculty after winter break

After a couple of minutes I opened my eyes back up and let out a sigh, my parents are coming home in February, meaning that I have to go back home, without Lily by my side, for a week

But I can't stay away from her for a week, sure she might drop me up and pick me up for school, but, I don't think that should be enough, she's been there for me when I hurt my leg, she took care of me, gotten me food, my homework, hell, she's my girlfriend after all

I let out a frown, but made it disappear from my face after a moment, I don't want her to worry about me when she gets back, this is our first Christmas together, and I am determined to get this tree all decorated before Lily gets back

I moved myself closer as I gotten the plastic box of ornaments and sat it next to me, as I started to put them on the tree, I heard some shuffling coming from outside before hearing the door unlock and open, I peak my head over my shoulder and past a wall to see Lily with her snow gear on with six bags that she had gotten at the grocery store, three in each hand

"Welcome back"

I say softly, she let out a chuckle as she put the bags down and started to take off her jacket

Lily: "Thank you my love, I trust that you had gotten the lights on the tree while I was out?"

I nodded my head, even though she couldn't see me, I then cleared my throat to answer her

"Yeah, I'm starting to put on the ornaments on now"

Lily then walked in with some of the bags that she set down on the floor next to the door

Lily: "You did so good, and now that I'm here, you can rest up a bit"

She said as she went from the kitchen to the front door again, taking the bags to where she can unbag them in a bigger space, I pursed my lips as I looked down at the box that I was holding

"Yeah, but, I'll do some more when you are doing something else, I don't want to add on to the stuff that you already have to do..."

Lily then let out a chuckle

Lily: "Don't be silly, I told you that I'm going to help you, and I plan on going to"

"But you truly don't have to..."

Lily: "Hey"

I then look over to my side to see Lily looking over at me, she had a rather mad and serious look on her face, she then gripped the collar of my shirt and pulled me forward

Lilly: "I said I'll fucking do it, I don't want to break your arm now do I?"

I let out a smile as I shook my head to the side

"No, you don't, I'm sorry that I insisted on me doing this"

She then let out a smile as she let go of my collar

Lily: "No, you did nothing wrong princess, I just want you to be safe when you are here with me"

I let out a smile, I then leaned forward and gave her a peck on her lips, she looked at me with a surprised face which quickly turned into a smile, she then gave me a long sensual kiss on my lips before pulling away

Lily: "I need to put away the groceries, I'll be back"

I nod my head as she stood up and went back to the kitchen, I started to open the boxes that has the ornaments as I started to put them on the tree, I know that she is only showing concern for me, after all, she is the only one that is caring for me when I hurt myself, and like she said before; she's doing this for me, so, I should at least do something for her

After everything was done, and decorated, Lily helped me sit up on the couch, she even propped my foot on the coffee table with one of the pillows so I don't strain myself, she then walked into the kitchen to make us some hot chocolate, I lean forward and swiped the remote from the table and flicked through the channels to find The Hallmark channel, these movies on this channel was so shitty and cheesy it makes me have cavities, but they are the ones that I used to watch with Katie during this kind of year

Thinking about Katie made my heart sink, its been months, but I still can't believe that she's gone, and in the new school year, she won't be there, she will never be there anymore

Lily: "My love, why are you crying?"

I look up to see Lily with two cups of coffee and a concerned look on her face, she quickly put the cups down on the table and sat down next to me, cupping my cheeks as she wiped the tears away from the corner of my eyes 

Lily: "Did something happen? Are you hurt? What's wrong?"

There was a slight tinge of urgency in her voice, she seemed genuinely concerned for me

"I-It's nothing, it's just around the time that me and Katie would be together for Christmas, since my parents are too busy with work to spend it with me"

There was a silence from her for a moment

Lily: "But she's dead, she's no longer worth your time, unlike me"

I sniffle as I look up at her

"What did you say?"

Lily had a blank stare on her face before shaking her head and giving me a smile

Lily: "I was just saying that you have me now to do those stuff that you did with ....Katie... with"

I let out a slight smile as I nodded my head, we then snuffled up on the couch as we watched sappy Christmas movies
