The smile

Maiya smiled at him for the first time. Wonka smiled back. God, her smile was so pretty, why hadn't she smiled at him like that before? Or had she? He felt some sort of a bond with her, not like a lovers bond more like a father and daughter bond. It felt weird for Wonka since he had never felt like this. It was weird for Maiya too since she had never had parents before. It felt nice for both of them though. But then, a police officer came up to them. Oh no.. Mrs Scrubbit must of called the cops on them when they ran away. They've been caught.. they start running and Wonka grabs Maiya's hand, she flinches and looks a bit confused but lets him. They then finally get away, Maiya looked really scared so Wonka decided to comfort her by hugging her. It was a bit unusual and odd for her but she lets him. She was obviously scared of physical contact with anyone, even if she knows them. For a moment, Wonka felt like he had known her forever even though they had only known eachother for a few days, they had grown so close together.
