When Cora and Wally died. All Cora wanted was people to check on wally, which they mostly did, there were a select few checked on Cora.

Wally, being worried about her from the moment he had died, he had been worrying about Cora, naturally.
Then he saw her and ran to her, asking her if she was okay.
They had a heart warming friendly moment
That was back in 1984.

In 2023, when Maddie "died" it was around the homecoming dance, He went with Maddie..but during the night he danced with Cora and his feelings towards her... they become more obvious to him.

"Cora... I have to tell you something..." he said as he was looking at her.
"Yes, wally?" She asked.
"I am in love...with...you, I don't know why it took me this long to understand that but I am" Wally said as Cora smiles, looking to her best friend, this big golden retriever.
