I woke up with sweats clinging to my body

The evening sunlight shone through the window. My throat was parched as I coughed lightly, trying to stave off the humid feeling in the room.

It took a moment for my focus to gather. Why didn't Jason woke me up? Was Ryuudou temple always been this silent?

Why do I feel so dehydrated? And my body hurts for unknown reasons

"Onii-chan..."

A voice called out sweetly before I could register my situation. Something moved beside me on the bed. Warm, soft and comforting like the coming of spring, and yet no less familiar

I blinked. I rubbed my eye wearily

Purple hair filled my vision. She was less than an inch away. Her calm smile was just as I have remembered it years ago.

"Sakura, what are you doing here?"

My sister wore a cardigan with the upper buttons undone from the size of her bust, which was covered by a cream-colored top underneath. Compared to the child I rescued from Zouken, this girl has only grown more lively through the years

The girl wordlessly bring my face closer to her. I didn't have the strength to resist against my sister. Silently, I allowed our foreheads to touch after a moment

"You're so hot, Shinji" She mutter while looking into my eyes "Been on a working spree these days?"

"I guess?" I've been making sure preparations for possibilities are accounted for. Adding that with the two consecutive fights, I would be lying if I say I wasn't exhausted

"This is why you should get married soon" Sakura teased "I don't know how long until you hit the dirt overworking without someone to take care of you"

"Nahhhh. I don't need a wife"

Imagine roping another hapless woman into your life. I've already done it with Sakura and Rin. What's to say I won't ruin their future just by existing?

Finally mustering enough strength, I push myself away from her

It's hot and stuffy here as outside sound the call of crows, their black bodies reflecting off the sunlight through the window. I know them, but they were never this loud

Today they sound panicked and paranoid. Before I could dwell on it, the flutter of wings beat away in the distance. There is only silence now that they're gone

It made me uncomfortable

"Give me a reason to not boot your ass out right now"

"You haven't been to school today, so Rin called me" She gently reminded "I ran from my place here to check on my brother. You were sleeping like a corpse just moments ago"

"But it's suppose to be Saturday?" I muttered in confusion

Sakura silenced me with a finger on my lip

"Don't worry nii-chan. It's normal for sickness to confuse the mind" She pressed on my chest, silently urging me to lay down "You need rest and plenty of sleep. Close your eyes. There's no need to be worried"

"Because I will watch over you"

And despite my protest, I can't help the sudden drowsiness that overcame me

With Sakura beside me, I shouldn't be this worried
