Hey! Merry Chrisler and Happy holidays! I've been going through a bit of writers block and forced my way through it to deliver you all a little gift. Honestly, I think this is some of my best work too. I do suggest listening to the song, as it's meant to amp the scene up but if not that's fine too. If the link's broken the song is called *Dead Leaves* by Gao the Arsonist.
Let me know why you think, I love reading your thoughts and theories and things. Anyway, I spent 5 hours writing this and I shoulda been asleep like 9 hours ago, so I'ma do that now.
And as always, please remember to Smile. }
"Who were they?" I ask as I trail behind them, stretching my arms in preparation.
"Just some people that help me with..the more unsavory parts of my work." They say, though their smile makes it clear they don't mind these so called 'unsavory' parts.
"Yeah?" I ask, without meaning as I idly scan the faces of the people around us, searching as always for any members of Purity I recognize.
"They're just barely not useless." They say, looking a little annoyed.
"Sorry to hear that." A smirk finds it's way onto my lips.
"You should be." They say with an amused smirk. "You're the reason they're struggling right now after all."
"Having them help find Purity?"
They just smile, their eyes twinkling with amusement. "You could say that."
Their eyes light up as they turn around, stopping dead in their tracks. "You just reminded me!" They say, reaching into their plain black jeans and pulling out a sticky note, the edges stained with blood. "A gift for you."
Their smile is sweet and innocent as they hand over the crimson stained trophy.
"A name and location..they're purity, but why are they special?"
"20 Questions?" They coo playfully, walking quick circles around me as I study the paper.
"Just spill it." I say, feeling a smirk creep onto my face at their antics.
They sigh, seeming hesitant all of a sudden. "The man who pulled the trigger." They tap the paper once, looking up at me, their gaze suddenly serious.
I reflexively squeeze the paper a little, forcing myself to loosen my grip before I ruin it.
"I see..quite the gift indeed.." The veins in my arm pulse aggressively, and I feel my blood squirm in my veins.
Their eyes fall to my wrist, and then trail back up to me, a frown on their face. "Do you..need my help?"
"No." My voice sounds harsh and I pause. "No..I'll do it."
"..You're going to end up killing him you know." They say, tilting their head as they match my gaze.
I don't look at them, still staring at the paper.
"I mean, I kill them everytime..but you seemed quite against it."
"I never told you not to kill them." I say, meeting their gaze.
"Oh come now, that's obviously not what I meant." They say, their eyes lidded with amusement as they lean against someones house gate. They rest their head against their palm as they look up at me. "And if you go as you are now..even if you don't consciously want to kill him..you will."
