Hey! This story up to this point has been written entirely in first person (I think) and honestly, it's been..clunky? Sometimes I feel like I'm really forcing certain characterizations or observations that seem unrealistic or just like, impossible? For certain characters that's fine, they literally have sixth senses, Like Chara who has all kinds of underlying powers. Like that whole, sensing emotions thing. That wasn't metaphorical, that's a thing she does.  But it isn't something everyone can do. Which is where 3rd person comes in. With the amount of characters in certain interactions, swapping narrators would be abysmal and make me want to die, so I'm not going to do that. Instead, we'll be using the dearly beloved 3rd person that for some reason I didn't use initially. You'd think for a story like this 3rd person would be my obvious choice. Sorry, I'm ranting cause I'm angry. Anyway, I'll put big ol 3rd or 1st person messages whenever I'm swapping writing styles. It might be a little hard to follow but when is this story not. Anyways, I hope you enjoy, and always remember to,

"Think they'll make it out?" Lovio asks, still wrapping himself in bandages.

"Mmmm.. I think so. For all I mock them, they're extremely competent." I muse, a grin splitting my face.

He hums in acknowledgment, his eyes falling back to the street below, swarmed with police, fire fighters and monsters, all pulling away pieces of rubble.

Undyne had rushed in nearly half and hour ago. Even this far I could feel the tremors she caused, every motion filled with the terrifying ferocity of a boss monster.

The Royal Guard.  A variable, but hardly and insurmountable one.

"I was hoping for Asgore, but Undyne is a fine consolation prize."

"Is he stronger?" The man asked, his gaze shifitng to me as he awaited an answer.

"Hard to say. It's certainly close. The real difference is that he's intelligent. And more than that, he's a symbol. Asgore is an indomitable figure to monsters, a living legend. In a war against ancient humans, bolstered by soul traits and overwhelming numbers, he preserved their species."

Once again he answer with a clipped, "Hmm," and looked back down at the lab, slowly collapsing.

The thumps were coming back this direction now. Undyne must've found them then.

The paramedics and firefighters clearly made the same assumption, clearing a path straight to the ambulance.

A few silent moments passed before Undyne rushes out, knocking aside small debris like weightless foam blocks.

She drops Sans and Frisk onto gurnees before collapsing herself.

"Shouldn't we just kill her now if she's going to be a problem?" Lovio asks. He wasn't asking because he assumed he knew better, just genuinely curious.

"No, I need her for something later. If my guess is right, the fear eater will wake soon."

His eyes find their way to mine, narrowing with suspicion.

"Can we handle a fully realized Black Beast?"

I smirk at his question and he seems to relax.

"Absolutely not."

"Wh- then why are we letting that happen?!" He shouts, incredoulous at the thought.

"Because we can't stop it waking up. But we can use it. It'll act as good motivation for dear [Y/n]. Get rid of some of those..pesky inhibitions."
