The next morning, it was the first day of the tournament.
"Here we are getting started on our first tournament in the history of cricket." said Nasser,
"We certainly are Nasser." replied Alan,
"Yes, we have all the teams, including the returning team of Shiva D'Alia." said Nasser,
"Yes, and if I'm not mistaken, they have come here to redeem themselves after losing the finals." replied Alan,
"That's right, Alan." said Nasser,
"And I also heard that they have Vidya Rao, who is the daughter of the legendary cricket player Hamid Rao." replied Alan,
"That's right, and I am honored to be in the presence of greatness. Rest in peace, Hamid Rao. I'm sure your daughter will make you proud." said Nasser,
"So let's get started. We have Shiva's team." replied Alan,
"Which has Manjot Sodhi, Jason Davis, Stefan Rashid, Tarun Batra, Zafar Hussain, Gaurav Sehgal, Pierre Laurent, Xavier Smith, Rodrigo Rodriguez, Vidya Rao and of course the team captain Shiva D'Alia." said Nasser,
"Let's hope that they get another chance to make it to the finals." replied Alan,
"Agreed." said Nasser,
"It looks like Shiva has won the toss. What will he choose." replied Alan,
"Will he choose to field or bat." said Nasser,
"Nasser, it's highly unusual for the captain to be consulting his decision with a player of his team." replied Alan,
"Alan, he is consulting with Vidya Rao more specifically." said Nasser,
"After consulting with Vidya, he has decided to field." replied Alan,
"It's very interesting because last time they were in the tournament they chose to bat." said Nasser,
"Let's see how it all plays out." replied Alan,
"Alright, Vidya Rao is bowling the first ball of the over." said Nasser,
"The captain looks very focused as Vidya is throwing the ball." replied Alan,
"Let's see what she's got." said Nasser,
Vidya throws the first ball, and it hits the wickets, then the crowd cheers.
"A wicket, I don't believe it." replied Alan,
"I can believe that." said Nasser,
"That player has been dismissed." replied Alan,
"And Vidya Rao has her first wicket, and the captain couldn't be more prouder." said Nasser,
"Now Vidya has eight wickets in a row, and it's Gaurav Sehgal's turn to bowl." replied Alan,
"And now Gaurav has taken seven wickets." said Nasser,
"Looks like Shiva's team is on fire, and his bowlers are on a hat trick." replied Alan,
"They want another chance at the finals, and it looks like they will get one by the way this performance is rolling." said Nasser,
"Alright, now the other team has barely managed to score 105 runs due to the bowlers exceptional performance." replied Alan,
"Since the bowling performance was exceptional, you can only imagine what the batting will be like." said Nasser,
"It's time. Let's go." replied Shiva,
"The other team has their work cut out for them if they want to beat Shiva's team." said Alan,
"I agree, Alan." replied Nasser,
"Are you ready, Manjot?." said Shiva,
"I was born ready, Shiva." replied Manjot,
"Good luck, Jason." said Vidya,
"Thanks Vidya you, Gaurav, and Zafar did great with the bowling." replied Jason,
"Thanks." said Vidya,
"Alright, now the batters Jason Davis and Manjot Sodhi are coming out now." replied Alan,
"The other team will really have to make it difficult for them." said Nasser,
"Now the first ball of the over." replied Alan,
"Wow, look at that. Jason and Manjot are really scoring fours and the occasional six." said Nasser,
"The other team better step up their game." replied Alan,
"Yes, you guys are doing great." said Vidya,
"You've got this." replied Shiva,
"Oh no, it looks the luck of Jason, and Manjot has run out, but they got the team to 100 for 2." said Nasser,
"Sorry, guys." replied Jason,
"It's okay. You both did your best now its up to me and Shiva." said Vidya,
"Good luck, guys. I hope we make it." replied Manjot,
"We will." said Shiva,
"We will do it in honor of Amin." replied Vidya,
"Let's go." said Shiva,
The players from the other team were laughing at Vidya.
"It seems like there is some unsportsmanlike behavior." replied Alan,
"You are a woman. You are no one special." said the man,
"You sure about that because this woman took eight wickets." replied Vidya,
"You mess with her. You mess with me. You got that." said Shiva,
"Is she your girlfriend." replied the man,
Shiva was about to push the man when Vidya stopped him.
"Don't Shiva he's not worth it." said Vidya,
"Vidya, you are respected, and I will always stand with you." replied Shiva,
He knelt down on one of his knees in front of Vidya and bowed his head.
"Shiva, get up. We are equals." said Vidya,
"I know, but I can't help but bow and show you my respect." replied Shiva,
"What happened to the Shiva that couldn't stand me." said Vidya,
"You made me a better person, Vidya." replied Shiva,
"Okay...okay now shall we." said Vidya,
The two of them made some centuries, and the crowd cheered at that.
The captain of the other team nodded, and the team members pushed Vidya onto the ground.
"Oh no, that's very unsportsmanlike." replied Nasser,
Shiva helped her up off the ground, and he looked at her.
"Vidya, are you okay." said Shiva,
"Yeah, I'm fine." replied Vidya,
"Let's wipe the grins off of their faces." said Shiva,
After making more runs, the crowd cheered, and Shiva's team won the first match of the tournament.
"We did it." replied Jason,
"Yep that's right." said Manjot,
"We should celebrate." replied Stefan,
