Being popular was a big reputation Lucy had, having designer stuff, best friends with the most popular girls in school.
She knew she couldn't ruin that, one rumor and everything is gone. Going to partys, wearing dresses, full vanity of any makeup you could think of, it's was every teen girls dream.

The popularity didn't get to her, she was friendly to everyone, especially kids. She loved volunteering for watching over the children at Hebrew school.
