"Well shit" I commented as I ran my hand through my hair. Am I surprised? Not even a little bit
"Listen to me, do not tell anyone about this. Just keep it to yourselves" I said
"Are you crazy? Your brothers deserve to know the bitch who almost killed their sister" Landon argued
"I can handle it myself. They don't need to know anything" I assured them
"We swore to protect you Ella. We were right there and couldn't even prevent that from happening" Noah's voice filled with distress
"Don't blame yourself for anything. I should've known better, I'll deal with her in my own way" I reassured them
"Are you sure?" Ethan asked
"Yeah I'm sure now bye" I said and ended the call
I dialed Enzo's number and he picked up immediately
"Hey"
"Hi Enzo, I need you to do a background check on Lexi Brown" I requested
"Lexi Brown?" He asked sounding curious
"Yes"
"Okay give me some time. I'll get back to you soon" he said and hung up
"Bambina are you okay?" Domenico asked as he walked into the room
"I'm fine" I said lightly
"You know who poisoned you" he stated firmly.
"I do" I said in the same tone
"You're not gonna tell us who it is" he stated once again
"No I'm not" I answered
"Okay I'm here to take you back to your room" he said and gently picked me up
"I can walk, put me down" I argued
"Your body is weak, you will not argue with me about this. Also no school for you for some time" he declared
"Yeah, you're right," I sighed, realizing that my stubbornness was getting in the way. "I guess I do need some rest."
Domenico carried me back to my room and gently placed me on the bed, tucking the blankets around me.
"Try to get some sleep, bambina," he said softly, brushing a strand of hair away from my face.
I nodded, feeling the exhaustion wash over me. As Domenico left the room, I closed my eyes, hoping that sleep would bring some clarity to the chaos that had unfolded.
The next morning, I woke up to the sound of my phone buzzing with notifications. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I reached over and grabbed it, seeing a message from Enzo.
"I've got some news Ella, I can't tell you over the phone. Could you meet up with me at the cafe so we can discuss it" the message read.
This whole text just proved that something is seriously wrong, what could it be?
I forced myself out of bed, slightly wincing as my feet touched the ground. My vision blurred for a minute and I sat back down
Once my vision cleared, I got back up and made my way to the bathroom. With alot of struggle, I finally managed to take a shower

I know my brothers won't let me out of their sight but I have to meet Enzo to get information.
I climbed out my window and slid down a pole. I managed to stay out of the sight of the guards and went out the gate
I didn't need to take my bike because the cafe is just ten minutes away from here. When I got there, I saw Enzo sitting at a table, a cup of coffee infront of him
"Hey" I said as I gave him a hug
"Hi. You might want to sit down for this" he said and I sat down next to him
Enzo's face turned serious as he looked at me, his voice filled with concern. "Ella, I've got some news. I couldn't find anyone named Lexi Brown in the system. It's like she doesn't exist."
My heart skipped a beat, and a wave of unease washed over me. "What do you mean she doesn't exist? How is that possible?"
Enzo leaned forward, his voice lowering to a hushed tone. "I think this Lexi girl might be using a fake identity. It's possible she's hiding something, or someone is trying to cover their tracks."
My mind raced with possibilities. Who is Lexi really?
Enzo continued, "But don't worry, Ella. We can still find out who she really is. We just need to dig deeper and follow the clues. We can start by tracing her connections, looking for any inconsistencies or leads that might reveal her true identity."
I nodded, feeling a mix of emotions all at once
"Who is she anyway?" He asked
"She's supposed to be my friend but she poisoned and tried to kill me" I explained and I saw his jaw clench in anger
"You do know there's someone behind her right? A mere little girl won't be able to do all this" he said and I nodded
"I know what to do. I have to get back now, I snuck out and my brothers should be awake by now" I said and gave him a hug before making my way back home
I dodged the guards again and climbed up my window. I have to speak to Antonio regarding the security, anybody can just waltz in here
I finally made it into my room only to see my three oldest brothers sitting on my bed comfortably
"I'm getting tired of your behavior Gabriella. Who did you inform that you were leaving?" Antonio asked not looking at me
"No-"
"Me" Domenico cut me off. I stared at him wide eyed as Antonio diverted his harsh gaze to him
"Why didn't you inform me about it then? Can't you use your brain? What if something happened to her?!" Antonio said in a harsh tone
"I'm not stupid Antonio, I would never let her out of my sight if I wasn't sure that she'd be fine" Domenico said defensively
"I'd expect such a childish behavior from anyone but you Domenico" Tony said with a disappointed look on his face that only seemed to be pissing Dom off the more
"I wasn't being childish, I was being supportive. She can take care of herself, have you bothered to ask how she's been doing?!. She needs her own space" Domenico argued
"That doesn't excuse her sneaking out!. She almost lost her life just yesterday and you thought it was a brilliant idea to let her leave the house alone?!" Antonio snapped and stood up
"It's not his fault. I'm sorry for my reckless behavior, I just wanted to go for a stroll so I went to the cafe ten minutes away from here" I explained and he glared at me
"You do know how much we love you right bambina?" He inquired as he gripped my shoulders and I nodded my head
"How do you think we felt seeing you slipping away from us yesterday? You were so pale, i thought I was gonna lose you bambina. You can't keep doing things like this please" he said pleadingly
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again, please don't be mad at Dom" I apologized feeling bad for Domenico. He is literally letting Antonio yell at him for something he knew nothing about
"I'm not mad at him, nor you. I just want you to know not to do things like this anymore. If you wanna go somewhere, at least inform us so we don't worry" he said and kissed my forehead before excusing himself
"Is he okay?" I asked no one in particular
"He's under alot of stress bambina. You should've seen him yesterday, he almost lost his mind. Just give him some time" Ales said and also left
I felt someone's sharp gaze on me and turned to see Dom staring at me intensely. I waited for him to say something but he just continued staring at me
"Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked, suddenly feeling uncomfortable
