[Chapter 9]

Mesmerized by the sight of me only showing pure intentions. In his eyes, he saw the solace of charm. Was he charmed?

Seeing through the looks of his eyes and how those lingered almost every time, The only sight that could melt a man's heart is a woman's earnest kindness.

Cyrus might be the best example of that, considering the way I caught him looking at me. I kind of felt embarrassed, and that's why I already left Adrian alone. I walked up to him instead.

"The man's falling in love already," Cyrus teased. However, I took it seriously.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I asked. With a little aggravation in it.

Cyrus laughed as he sat on the stone bench the other way. "If you weren't being so kind and perky to him, maybe," he explained. Though he has a point, Part of it was true.

I hissed my mouth in sarcastic annoyance and rolled my eyes.

"What can you say about my acting there? Did I make improvements?" he asked, enthusiastic to know my perspective on his performance earlier.

"It is good; you made improvements indeed," I honestly admitted. Whenever I admit something good about him, Cyrus makes up a bright smile for it. That's why I couldn't help but match the enthusiasm Cyrus showed.

The more I dive into thinking about Cyrus, sometimes I can't help but realize that Cyrus is very nice after all. Then I think about the past scandals and rumors showing before, and I wonder if those rumors and scandals are actually true, because on the way Cyrus is treating me right now, I can hardly imagine it happening.

Narrator

Fury ignited through Trish's nerves. Reminiscing about the time she argued extremely with Franzen was truly unforgettable for her. Not only was she humiliated in front of Ethan, but she also lost the respect of half of the staff. With Jeff (Trish's assistant) on her side, she knew there was nothing much she could do about it.

"That Franzen Pineda girl, she must think so much of herself for going through me! This isn't the end yet, I swear... I swear!! Ughh!!" Trish was infuriated. Jeff couldn't help but feel frightened by Trish's tantrums.

"That girl is something. Look at how quick she's already gotten close with the two. Isn't that suspicious?" Jeff suggested. Imposing a possible theory on Trish.

Trish is all ears to whatever Jeff is trying to impose, but she knows what he meant by what he proposed.

"Now that I noticed, are you suggesting she's a bitch?" Trish hints.

"Isn't she already?" Jeff answered. Teasing Trish regarding Franzen.

The two of them laughed together.

"I have an idea. Why don't you just return the karma back to her?" Jeff suggested. Imposing a dirty idea. Something that would have a very harsh impact on Franzen.

Attentiveness sparks through Trish's eyes. We all know what she's interested in—something loathsome is about to happen, Jeff guesses.

Just when Ethan was ready to enter his limousine, Trish hurried to catch up to him. A wave of flawless beauty, body curves, and irresistible ravish must have washed away Trish's entire appearance. Wearing a black backless halter high-slit dress and an extremely expensive gold necklace that came from France. Lastly, she was also wearing black and gold Prada heels. Tonight is Trish's night; her prada heels must have felt luxurious enough to give her a taste of limousine grounds; almost she did, if not because of Ethan himself. Nobody could ever fathom the fact that Ethan stopped Trish before she could ever take a seat inside his limousine.

"Trish? Where do you think you're going?" He frankly questioned Trish.

Her eyes met bewilderment as soon as Ethan confronted her. Trish ended up in a state of shock as her mouth wide open, matching her stupefied moment.

"What do you mean?! I'm going to the opening party of 'Radiocasting Your Love'? Why are you even stopping me?!" She asked, following her answer to Ethan's question with a tone of complete astonishment. She insisted on getting inside the passenger's seat, despite Ethan keeping his hand in front of Trish.

"Sorry, Trish, but you're not coming," he shortly responded. On a note of expressionless judgment, Ethan took a seat in the passenger's seat of the limousine and immediately closed the door, leaving Trish hopelessly standing outside, her face covered with a worried frown.

"Wait!! Ethan!! Don't leave me here; you didn't tell me the reason yet for that stubborn act!!" Before Ethan could ever shut the window completely, Trish hurdles to prevent Ethan from going further.

Now brought Ethan to the interest of at least answering Trish's question: "You have been very unrightful to Franzen these days, and I am no longer letting that happen again. Consider this a punishment to your immaturity," he calmly answered.

"Okay! So what? Is Franzen coming and I'm not?" she followed, her tone split in compliance. Only her ill-nature could flow throughout the entire atmosphere of this tensioned conversation.

"Yes, that's right," he replied shortly, now shutting the window completely. Trish, who's got no choice but to slam the limousine's car, is desperate for Ethan's attention.

Soon, the car left too. Trish has been left alone; it was a waste, considering Trish's exquisite attire that no other socialite can afford. She couldn't help but aggressively stomp on the ground, seemingly kicking the force of air.

However, it wasn't truly the end for her yet. Another car unexpectedly stopped by in front of Trish. The window slid down, exposing another woman who's seemingly aristocratic, just like her. An incredibly gorgeous woman delivers a message to Trish. Despite her being too stunned to speak, the woman took the initiative to start a conversation as if she's offering a very intriguing message for her.

"Trish, you look very hopeless there," she teased.

As soon as Trish gets to clearly see the person inside the luxurious car, her frown instantly turns into excitement.

"Wait a minute. Is that you, Astrid?!" recalling a name from a past relative. There goes Trish, coincidentally meeting her elder cousin, Astrid Gingco. After her 4 years of living in Germany, she's back in the country for good, validating Trish's astonishment at Astrid's sudden appearance.

"Yes, it's me; I was never dead! Perhaps you should get in now before you ever get late to the party," she ridiculously offered. Truly ridiculous! Trish cannot attend the party anymore under Ethan's circumstances, but who cares?! Astrid is already in there as a fairy godmother, ready to help Trish proceed into invitation cheating.

That's why Trish did not think twice and immediately turned around in order to get inside the car. As soon as she got in, the car moved forward. Astrid was in there, sitting next to Trish with her legs crossed. Her head turned to Trish, flawlessly looking at Trish with a lavished eye—something that hints at pure expensiveness and pure beauty.

"I wonder why Ethan would leave you alone in there, though." Astrid attempted to ask what may be the reason for Trish's sudden desperateness and frustration in the middle of the evening.

"It's because of this stupid petty girl that out of the blue popped up in my goddamned life!" Trish threw the sharpest rants in front of Astrid, who could not open a strike of word but was left thoughtless and surprised over Trish's rebellion of words.

"She's such a bitch! You know what I mean, Astrid, when I say that?" She exclaimed. Her eyes rolled ill-naturedly and left a deep sigh only mixed with broken frustration and desperateness.

Puzzled as it is, Astrid must know Trish a lot for her to correctly assume the code that tells Trish is in a big problem: "Yeah.. seems like a really serious case. Well, I'm glad that I came in at the perfect timing; I'll help you, my dear cousin."

It seems like the party devils are going to be partners tonight. It's a sign that Franzen should be careful about what she's going to get into tonight.
