[Chapter 12]

I get misty from the way Cyrus looks at me. At least for this very moment, I discovered my sudden burst of fear was overtaking him too much. His hand followed the trace of my shaking palm. His palm is now exploring my wrist. Softly rubbing his touch within mine until he finally had my hand under his possess (in a manner that is neither aggressive nor forceful, like he used to).

He knew I'd be scared the moment I was already in here. Just a small smile from his face was something I really needed from the start. A smile that is genuine and caring.

I followed him, now standing in front of everyone. I thought I'd faint right in front of them, but I only lost composure standing here, and that's so much better than humiliating myself here by fainting in fright.

Now the cameras are continuously flashing for us. The photos, including me and Cyrus, will surely burst into the media the next day, or even the next 24 hours.

Up inside the elegant and modern venue, come along Trish and another woman beside her. Who could she be? She's as elegant as Trish, except that she looks more sophisticated and educated than Trish. I rolled my eyes with those thoughts waving through my mind.

"The devil is here," Trish muttered to the mysterious woman.

How beautiful is she, the mysterious woman? Hair tied back neatly, wearing a jacquemus-designed tight-suited cream white dress (the last time I saw it was it being worn by Bella Hadid). A mini absolute white handbag with a gold patch over it, last but not least, an elegant fairy string heels with a white short stocking for it to match. When I look in detail, I also find her wearing a double-ringed beige palette earring.

I'm super impressed. I've never seen such a fashionable woman like her before! She's such a gem worth envying.

However, the moment me and Cyrus arrived inside the venue (which was exquisitely decorated in a complex modern way), the mysterious woman herself enthusiastically jumped from her seat and rushed in front of Cyrus. I was shocked, and so was Cyrus, who looked like his life flashed before his eyes. It is as if he is meeting with a ghost.

"Astrid, what are you doing here?! Aren't you supposed to be overseas right now?" He questioned. Nothing else matters in this commotion other than his extreme shock.

So that incredibly gorgeous woman is named Astrid?
She smiled, then burst into laughter as soon as silence hit Cyrus and me.

"I know, right! It's a surprise. Just a silly surprise, Cyrus," she cackled. Of course, in an elegant way. How can she laugh this way and still maintain her elegance? Socialites are weird creatures.

Cyrus had no other choice but to spit an awkward laugh along with Astrid. This time, Astrid was peeping to see me. It looks like she has finally noticed me.

"And who is this pretty lady?" She asked, taking emphasis on the praise designated for me.

As I blushed at the sympathetic praise she intended for me, I responded to her question, "Uhm, hello," following an awkward laugh almost imitating the one Cyrus made.

"This girl is this party's author. She wrote 'Radiocasting Your Love' and it became a hit in less than a week. Later on got an adaptation, as you can see... now," he introduced me in full detail in front of her, leading to her complete bewilderment.

"No way!! Miss Franzen Pineda?! I can't believe it! I'm literally talking to the woman who wrote my favorite book!" She exclaimed in total excitement. I never would have thought I would make a socialite like her be this fanatic. I've never been this proud of myself!
