"What do you mean he's back?" Sebastian asked, his face falling from that once-perfect smile he wore.

"He came to talk to me," I said quietly. Sebastian raised his eyebrows. His face went from confused to angry. I recognized that annoyed look immediately.

"He talked to you? I just left you! When the hell did he talk to you?" Sebastian shouted, his voice starting to echo off the walls around us. There were a few glances from nearby students. I grabbed his arm, pulling him off to the corner.

He had every right to be upset about the situation, but I did not want to cause a massive scene. I have had enough people talking about me since I arrived at Hogwarts. I didn't need to add fuel to the fire.

"It was nothing bad. He came up to me just as I was going into the common room after you left. He wanted to tell me that he was back so I wasn't surprised when I saw him in the castle eventually." I explained. Sebastian ran a hand through his fluffy hair. His breathing was increasing.

He started fidgeting with the buttons on the sleeves of his shirt, undoing them before pushing the sleeves up to his elbows. He was flustered and upset. I could tell it was bothering him but he seemed to be trying his best to keep calm.

"But how is he back? He graduated last year, didn't he?" He asked in a harsh yet quiet tone. I could feel my hands sweating at the seriousness of the conversation.

"He said he failed his exams. He's repeating the year." I whispered back. Sebastian shook his head back and forth.

"That doesn't make sense," he said, "he never struggled in class before. How could he have possibly failed his exams? He probably failed them on purpose just so he can come back here." Sebastian declared, his voice rising again.

I rolled my eyes, a habit I needed to break, "That's a bit much. He wouldn't do that."

As soon as I said the words, Sebastian's eyes shot to mine. His brows furrowed and I could see his chest rising and falling heavily.

"Why are you defending him?"

"Defending him? I'm not defending him. I'm also just not trying to jump to conclusions."
