Chapter 4: Cedarwood

He breathes out through his nose as he finally gets the courage to knock on the door.

"Come in."

Quietly closing the door he bows once he sees him.

"Father you called for me?"

"Yes son have a seat."

Following orders the werewolf sits in front of the parent.

"Feeling any better?"

"Yeah, sorry for yesterday, I just needed some fresh air."

"No it's fine. Good thing you didn't run into the others. Is your rut near?"

"Uh I don't think so. My body was just acting up."

His father hums.

"Well that's good. At least you don't have to go through the pain since you still have yet to choose a mate."

The werewolf bites the inside of his cheek. Dreading what's about to come.

"Or have you found one?"

"No father."

His father passes him a cup of water, after taking a sip he looks at the boy.

"Jungkook, you said you'd have one by now. It's been at least two or three weeks since you've turned 19. The year is about to end and you still don't have a mate. There are many omegas that have taken an interest in you. What's wrong?"

Jungkook sighs.

"I know, I just haven't found the right one. They are all pretty but father, I don't feel a connection with them. It's frustrating! I thought by now I'd find my omega. My mate. But I guess the moon has other plans for me."

His father gives him a look of pity.

"I apologize for being harsh on you; I failed to take into accounting how you might be dealing with this. Mating season is coming soon. Maybe you'll find them there."

He gives his frowning son a pat on the shoulder.

"Yeah maybe."

"For now let's hope your brother comes soon enough. You will become the next pack leader if he doesn't arrive in time, and I'm sorry but you'll have to find an omega by then. Whether they are your perfect fit or not."

Jungkook looks down.

"I understand."

"What'd he say?"

"I need to find a mate."

Namjoon and Yoongi chuckle.

"Have you told him how you're such a romantic and waiting for the right one." Yoongi asks.

Jungkook shoves him.

"Shut up, I just don't want to spend the rest of my life with someone who won't care for me as much as I do them." The werewolf corrects.

The pair stare at him and then look at each other, they snort.

"Whatever, are we going to school today?"

"Of course we are, are you feeling sick or something? You can stay if you want."

"No I'm just asking, I'm getting tired of school, we do the same shit each year."

Yoongi rolls his eyes.

"You and Tae were the ones to suggest going to that hellhole when we are literally over 18. Well except Taehyung but I'm 23, Joon is 22, Jin is 24, Hoseok 22, and you're 19! Why the hell are we still going?"
