Eat, drink, bathe and sleep. That was all Sakura did these dark days since Titan Shang Tsung captured this timeline. No matter how hard she and her allies had fought, they had been overwhelmed by his forces and lost. All of her weapons had been confiscated and she had been given to the Smoke of this new era as spoils of war. She sighed.
Make that Grandmaster Smoke of the Shirai Ryu.
Gods, Sakura thought she would never see the day that he would become a grandmaster. That would have only been possible if the Scorpion of this timeline had been executed, which seemed to be the case. Then again, Shang Tsung had promised the warriors of this timeline a lot of things and, surprisingly, he followed through on them. Her presence here had to have been one of those promises.
As of now, she was lounging in the bedroom that she was sharing with Smoke. Not Tomas. Smoke. The Tomas that she had known and loved in the past became corrupted by dark magic and became this monster. It was this same monster that kept her shackled to his side. She touched the metal that encircled her wrists. If she could only...
"I can take those off for you."
The Grandmaster's voice was low and husky. Sakura took a deep breath before slowly exhaling. His aura was overwhelmingly dark and suffocating. She could feel him sit next to her on the bed, the mattress sinking underneath his weight, idly playing with her shackles. His lips touched her cheek, idly making its way to her mouth. It was hard not to shiver at that. Every time he kissed her, it felt like something was invading her body. Something incorporeal. He was trying to push his madness onto her. He wanted to mold her into someone else.
And a deeper, darker part of herself craved it. The delicious maelstrom that came with his kiss was just indescribable. Sakura leaned into it. The darkness inside her wanted more of it. She gasped and pulled away, breaking Smoke's spell over her.
Fuck. She really wanted to throw the chains of her shackles around his neck and strangle the man to death. Too bad the chains were short. Smoke was definitely not taking any chances with her. Especially, when she still had a lot of fight in her left. Sakura was not going to go down without a fight.
"As much as I love your fiery spirit, you're gonna have to behave," he warned. "I can't have my wife acting poorly."
Wife?
