"Dang it, Smoke." Sakura muttered.
The young woman blushed as she tried to sit down with her friends to discuss the issue with the Vaeternians running around. She gingerly sat upon the hard chair and tried not to wince. Of course, Johnny Cage caught sight of her issue. He watched in amusement as his friend tried to make herself comfortable. He gave a long whistle and waggled his eyebrows as he realized why she couldn't sit down. Sakura glared at him. He was the only one out of the remaining champions who had true insight to the actual relationship between her and Smoke. However, she didn't put it past the other champions to figure it out sooner or later.
"Not now, Johnny." She pleaded.
"I didn't say anything."
"The two of you need to save it and pay attention." Kenshi warned.
During the meeting, it came to light that Sindel and Mileena had been bitten as well. Sakura wondered briefly if that was the vampire that Smoke destroyed last night. She didn't get too far with her musings as it came out that Raiden was missing as well. She gasped. Sweet, sweet, Raiden. He didn't deserve whatever he got. Neither did Smoke or the other champions that had been taken.
Things had just gotten more serious with that note and the pressure to destroy the invading Vaeternians became greater.

Sakura waited in her apartment for Smoke. He didn't always come, but she really needed for him to show up. Thankfully, he did. She sat up in her bed and winced, forgetting the so-called punishment she had received from him after she had offered her neck to him. The vampire gave her an arrogant smile.
"Did you really have to go so hard?" She asked.
"You liked it. I couldn't disappoint you." He replied.
She rolled her eyes and sighed.
The couple sat for a moment in silence. Smoke nuzzled into Sakura's neck and inhaled deeply. He lightly licked at the new puncture wounds he had left.
"Who was that vampire that you destroyed last night?"
"Mileena." Smoke growled.
Sakura closed her eyes for a moment. Given the fact that she was also tarkat-infected, Mileena wouldn't have hesitated to kill her without a thought. Smoke had been correct in killing her as much as she didn't like it.
"You haven't seen Raiden, have you?" She asked quietly. "He's missing."
"No. Not yet anyway." He replied. "I wouldn't doubt that Nitara got him, too."
"That bitch is going to pay." Sakura growled.
Smoke looked at his little mate. She was adorable when she was flushed with anger. It also made her smell twice as good.
"She sure will, little flower."
