Sakura stared down the newly turned Vaeternian. His hair was no longer the beautiful silver that it used to be, but it was an inky, jet black. His stormy gray eyes were a frightening red. His skin was just pale with red marks, indicating his curse. If she could somehow pin her beloved Tomas down without hurting him, then she could pay Nitara a visit. She recalled the vampiress's words to Tomas about young blood. That visit would not end well for one of them.

"You...need...to leave." He growled.

"Tomas?"

"Now."

So, there was still a little bit of her Slavic warrior inside. He was just trapped by that poisonous bite he had sustained from Nitara. There really was hope. That made her more determined to save him. Her only drawback was that she didn't have immediate help. She knew that all of his emotions were amplified because of the blood magic that infected him. That made him extremely dangerous, but it was a risk she was willing to take.

"I can't leave you like this. Lord Liu Kang can help you."

Tomas snarled with anger when he heard the god's name, making Sakura flinch.

"Who's going to help you when I eat you? Certainly not him."

The young woman stood her ground as Tomas hissed and clenched his fists. He was doing his best to hold back. She wanted to comfort him but refrained from doing so.

"I won't let you do that."

Nitara was going to burn in the Netherrealm. She would absolutely make sure of it.

Sakura's scent was intoxicating, and Tomas wanted nothing more than to drain her. He licked his lips at the thought. However, his instinct to mate her just overrode his desire to feed on her. He had been in love with her for quite some time but his duties, and now this, had kept him from confessing. Gods, why couldn't she leave already? She was making this much harder on the both of them by remaining here.

"Go. I can't hold off much longer."

"I can't," Sakura replied. "Not without you."

The young woman shifted towards him, and Tomas's restraint finally snapped. He tackled her, making her cry out, and both of them hit the ground with a hard thud.

"Foolish."

The Vaeternian kissed her. It was hungry and desperate. He could hear Sakura's heartbeat going a million miles per hour and he could smell her desire pooling in between her legs. Tomas inhaled deeply as he took in that new scent. He loved that combination of fear and desire that shone on her rosy face. It made her even more appetizing.

"Tomas!"

"You can't say I didn't warn you."

The sound of clothes being ripped apart filled the night air. The vampire took in Sakura's lovely form, and it took every last ounce of self-control hold himself back from mindlessly attacking her. Instead, he leaned in towards her to quietly whisper into her ear:

"Mine."

==================

Sakura suddenly woke up to sunlight. Dazed and confused, she sat up and took in her surroundings. She was back in her bedroom. Was last night just a dream? It couldn't have been. She could still feel Tomas on top of her as he rubbed his scent all over her. She could hear him saying that it was to keep other vampires away from her. There was no way she had dreamed that.

"Ow!"

A sharp pain came from her neck. The young woman touched her neck, and her fingers came across what felt like puncture wounds. She quickly got up from bed only for her legs to give out from underneath. Why did her legs feel like jelly? Why in the heck was she sticky? Then, that was when she felt a dull ache in between her legs. Her face became hot with embarrassment as all of her memories came rushing back to her.

"Oh, oh, sweet Elder Gods."

Her late-night encounter had been real! That explained why it felt like her insides had been rearranged. The only question that remained was why she hadn't turned into a vampire. A Vaeternian bite was quite poisonous. Poor Tomas. Sakura sighed as she tried to get up, pondering the issue. Her legs just wouldn't cooperate. Considering how hard Tomas had gone, it was likely that it would be a week before she could walk again. Well, it looked like she would have to create a new plan of rescue from the floor then. Once she was able to walk again, she would have to inform Lord Liu Kang about her bite and why she hadn't turned.
