"Ow," I whisper feeling Amelia pull her hands down from my head that she's been cleaning up.

"It's not that deep. You're lucky," Amelia says easily, a thin smile on her lips. My eyes stay on my wrists that are bruised and slightly bleeding. Or well were. Amelia already took care of them, wrapping bandages around them. But I can't stop thinking about what's underneath the white bandages. It's the same way they used to look when I was under his roof. Under his home. In that basement.

I shift uncomfortably and look up at Amelia noticing her blue eyes focused on my head. One of her hands keeps the hair off of my forehead as the other hand places bandages.

"Shouldn't you be taking care of Andy and Sullivan first? They both had head injuries-"

"Y/n, I've already looked at them. Sullivan's being treated as we speak and I took care of Andy before I came to you since Carina had already done what was needed," Amelia informs me, softly cutting me off. I nod as she drops her fingers from my head. She tilts her head and places a hand on my shoulder. "You okay?"

"Mhm," I hum, flicking my eyes back and forth between her's for a second then dropping my head. I look at my wrists again. "When can I see Andy?"

"She should be in here any minute," Amelia informs me just as a knock appears at the door. Amelia turns, looking over her shoulder. My eyes shoot past her and look to find Caroline coming in. My eyes go wide as tears fill her eyes.

"Caroline?" I breathe out as she runs over and engulfs me into her embrace. Her arms quickly wrap around me and I don't hesitate to wrap my arms back around her. Amelia whispers she leaves us two alone. But it's barely heard as I focus on Caroline and the beautiful scent of her's. The warmth of her as she hugs me and squeezes me.

"Jesus you scared the shit out of me," Caroline pulls away and slaps my arm. I flinch as the girl stands back. Fear in her eyes as her blue eyes glance back and forth between mine. "You went in that fire house without knowing what you were getting into! What the hell were you thinking?" She reaches forward and pushes my shoulder.

"Caroline," I say gently, looking away from her eyes.

"Damn it Y/n. I couldn't even think as I ran to that police station! I didn't know if you were okay or safe! I heard yelling-" Caroline pauses pacing in front of me. My eyes follow her as she walks back and forth in front of me. Her hands frail in the air as she speaks. Her eyes wide, tears in her eyes and sliding down her cheeks. "If you would've died I would've killed you again! I'm just getting to know you and you try to be a hero!"

I stand up and sink my teeth into my bottom lip.

"I mean-" she breathes out chuckling. "You didn't know what was going on! You knew something was wrong but that was it! You went on a suicide mission Y/n Peterson and I-"

"Caroline," I say grabbing her shoulders and stopping her from pacing, which was making me anxious the more she was doing it. Both of us stare at each other. Her blue eyes focusing on me. Our breathes in sync it feels like. I watch her eyes as they look back and forth between mine.
