[Serious Injury/Near Death Experience/Characters in distress/{Resolved Issue}]

Freelancer followed the others, hoping Gavin was wrong and that they would make it through. They'd rifted with Gavin before, how much different was this?
They made it through to the other side, seeing a crowd of people before feeling a burning in their chest.
"𝙳-𝙳𝔢𝔳𝔦𝔞𝔫𝔱!?"
Gavin panicked, sensing someone had followed them
"𝙵-𝙵𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚛!? 𝚆-𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚍𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐!?"
Caelum panicked, both demons very worried for their friend/partners safety as they fell to the ground. Gavin cursed loudly as he ran over to their side. He had warned them...why didn't they listen!?
"𝙳-𝙳𝔢𝔳𝔦𝔞𝔫𝔱...𝔭𝔩𝔢𝔞𝔰𝔢 𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔶 𝔴𝔦𝔱𝔥 𝔪𝔢..."
Gavin whispered, holding them in his arms. He watched in horror as he saw how quickly Freelancers expression changed. Groaning in agony as they felt their core being ripped into pieces
"𝚄𝚑- 𝙷-𝙷𝚘𝚕𝚍 𝚘𝚗 𝙵𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚛! 𝚆𝚎 𝚌-𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚍-𝚍𝚎𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚜𝚎 𝚐𝚞𝚢𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎...𝚑-𝚑𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚏𝚞𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚠𝚘𝚗𝚝 𝚋𝚎 𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚐!"
Caelum spoke, more-so trying to assure himself that they'd be okay. He also saw how much pain they were in....but he could feel it....that agony
"𝙶-𝙶𝚊𝚟𝚒𝚗, 𝚠-𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚍𝚘 𝚠𝚎 𝚍𝚘!?"
The empathy daemon cried slightly, wondering if Gavin could help the situation.
"𝙸 𝔱𝔬𝔩𝔡 𝔶𝔬𝔲...𝔫𝔬𝔱 𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔬𝔩𝔩𝔬𝔴 𝔪𝔢..."
Gavin mumbled, holding tightly onto the Freelancer. What else was he supposed to do in this situation?
The two demons worried about Freelancers safety and their power core. It made them panic, as well as the two extra that were in the room with them. The silence was soon broken by Ivan.
"ᴀ-ᴀʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴏᴋᴀʏ?"
He asked, not fully understanding what was going on. He didn't know what to do, but the silence only worried him further
"𝚃-𝚃𝔥𝔢𝔶'𝔩𝔩 𝔟𝔢 𝔣𝔦𝔫𝔢...𝔞𝔰 𝔴𝔦𝔩𝔩 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔱𝔴𝔬. 𝚠𝔢'𝔩𝔩 𝔡𝔢𝔞𝔩 𝔴𝔦𝔱𝔥 𝔦𝔱"
Gavin reassured, trying to de-escalate the situation as his grip tightened on Freelancer. They could hear his voice, but that pain was too strong. The last thing they heard were the sound of cars....
It had been hours.
Freelancer was lying in a hospital bed, doctors by their side. It appears the department were quick and were lucky to have reached the group in time.
Gavin and Caelum paced the waiting room, panic escalating as they waited for a report on Freelancer's condition
A doctor soon came out and told them that Freelancer was stable but would have to stay in hospital for a week or two to recover. They were lucky they hadn't been there long, as their core would have killed them from the inside.
The doctors allowed the two to go see them, warning them about how Freelancer may need rest. However the boys didn't hesitate to run to the room they were in
A smile was on Freelancers lips as they looked over at the two of them rushing in
"hey...there are my two favourite guys..."
They laughed, clearly trying to comfort them with what little energy they had
"𝙾𝚑! 𝙾𝚑 𝚠𝚘𝚠! 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔 𝚐𝚘𝚍!! 𝚈𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎 𝚘𝚔𝚊𝚢!!"
Caelum cheered, rushing over to Freelancers side.
"𝙷𝔢𝔶...𝔟𝔢 𝔠𝔞𝔯𝔢𝔣𝔲𝔩. 𝙳𝔬𝔫'𝔱 𝔥𝔲𝔯𝔱 𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔪, 𝙲𝔞𝔢𝔩𝔲𝔪..."
Gavin warned, seeing how happy Caelum was. The two of them exhausted from the pain they felt as well as Freelancer.
They had a long talk, and Freelancer had a lecture off of the two there...and soon their friend group.
"𝑌𝑜𝑢'𝑟𝑒 𝐴𝑛 𝐼𝑑𝑖𝑜𝑡!"
Damien argued, heated at Freelancer for being so foolish and careless, only to be shut down by Huxley
"𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕠𝕟 𝔻𝕒𝕞𝕖𝕤, 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕚𝕤𝕟'𝕥 𝕗𝕒𝕚𝕣.."
Lasko didn't manage to get a word in, as he rambled on about the possibilty of someone surviving something like that.
Gavin sighed at the group while Freelancer let out a laugh. Luckily they had a friend group that cared deeply about them...so, maybe don't go jumping into rifts when you're told not to? Yeah?
"𝙿𝔩𝔢𝔞𝔰𝔢 𝙵𝔯𝔢𝔢𝔩𝔞𝔫𝔠𝔢𝔯.."
Gavin spoke softly as he held Freelancer in his arms, worried that if he let go, he'd lose them.
"𝙿𝔩𝔢𝔞𝔰𝔢 𝔩𝔦𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔫 𝔱𝔬 𝔪𝔢 𝔫𝔢𝔵𝔱 𝔱𝔦𝔪𝔢..."
