Serendipitous Escape

Prakriti groggily opened her eyes, the morning sunlight filtering through her curtains. She stretched her arms and yawned, feeling the remnants of sleep slowly fading away. Today was an important day, and she couldn't afford to be late.

With a burst of energy, Prakriti jumped out of bed and quickly got ready for college. She slipped into her favorite jeans and a comfy sweater, making sure to grab her backpack before heading downstairs.

As she descended the staircase, the sound of laughter reached her ears. She entered the kitchen to find her dad and her best friend Priya sitting at the table, sharing a hearty breakfast and exchanging jokes. Their infectious laughter filled the room, instantly putting a smile on Prakriti's face.

She walked over to her mom, who was busy preparing a delicious meal, and wrapped her arms around her in a warm embrace. The comforting scent of her mom's cooking mixed with the love that filled the air, creating a sense of warmth and belonging.

Prakriti joined her family at the dining table, eagerly digging into her breakfast. Priya leaned over, excitement sparkling in her eyes, and reminded Prakriti about the upcoming trip announcement by the principal. Today was the day they would finally find out the date for their much-anticipated trip to Leh Ladakh and Shimla.

Finishing their breakfast in record time, Prakriti, Priya, and Prakriti's dad bid farewell to Prakriti's mom and made their way to the car. Prakriti's dad insisted on dropping them off at college, wanting to spend a few extra moments with his daughter and her best friend.

As they drove towards the college, the anticipation in the air was palpable. Prakriti couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. The trip, coupled with the college event, promised to make this day one to remember.

Author's POV:

After Prakriti's dad dropped Priya and Prakriti off at college, Priya noticed her crush, Dev, talking with Prashant about something. A mischievous idea sparked in her mind, and she couldn't resist. She quietly approached Dev from behind and let out a loud scream right into his ears.

Dev's POV:

I was engrossed in a conversation with Prashant about the upcoming college trip and our exams when suddenly, out of nowhere, a piercing scream echoed in my ears. Startled, I almost lost my balance, but I quickly turned around to find Priya standing there with an innocent expression on her face. I knew she was the culprit, and Prashant couldn't help but burst into laughter. Prakriti, who was nearby, couldn't help but chuckle too.

Dev: "Priya, are you an idiot? You scared the shit out of me! And why are you so late? And prashant why are laughing like this it's not good to laugh like this!" 😑

Prashant: "Sorry, bro, but it was just too hilarious! Couldn't help but laugh!" 😂

Priya: "Haha, Dev, you know how much I love pranking people, especially you! And sorry for being late. Blame it on Prakriti; she woke up late, so I got delayed too. By the way, why are you here chatting with your best friend Prashant instead of being in class? Don't you have any lectures?"

Dev: "Yeah, I know you love pranks and talking non-stop. Today's lectures got canceled because the principal is going to announce the date for the college trip and give us some instructions about the upcoming exams. There's also an event happening in college. So, we thought we'd catch up and chat before everything starts."

Prakriti (chuckling): "You guys always find a way to have fun, don't you?"

Dev: "yess Prakriti! And Priya, no more surprises, okay? My heart can only take so much!"

As Dev and Priya continued their playful banter, they couldn't help but feel a growing connection between them. Little did they know that this prank would be the start of something beautiful.
