In English class, their teacher, Ms. Green is telling the kids about a group project when Ian, Anthony and Sophie notice Elisa on their phone.

"Elisa, who are you texting?" Anthony asked.
"Mi mamá y papá/My mom and dad," Elisa replied.
"Huh?" Ian said.
"They are texting their mom and dad. Like in a group text," Sophie said.
"No, I'm texting them separately," Elisa said.
"Why separately?" Anthony asked.
"You know how my parents can be. My dad gets really protective and my mom asks a lot of questions, like ones that don't actually matter, and I don't want that all at the same time," Elisa explaned.
"All at the same time?" Ian asked, jokingly.
"Shut up," Elisa said, rolling their eyes.
"You four, pay attention," Ms. Green said.
"Sorry," They all said in unison

During lunch, the group sat and talked about their future and university plans.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention. I was accepted to the University of Washington," Anthony said.
"Oh my god," Sophie said.
"Congratulations," Elisa said.
"Are you going to accept?" Ian said.
"Maybe? I-I don't know," Anthony said.
"Well, you should. This is a big opportunity for you," Elisa said.
"I'll think about it," Anthony said.

Anthony felt slightly anxious about it. He didn't want to be left alone.
