This person is tall, black shaggy hair, and those eyes, I will never forget those eyes. They are a piercing blue. It's a man, he-he's giving me something. It's a watch.
Why would he give me a watch?

"Every five year old gets one of these," he tells me.

"Why? What's so great about it?" I ask him.

"Well it is not just a watch. It counts down till you find your soulmate. Only when you and him are strong enough, will you know."

"Wha-" He was already gone. What the heck is talking about. The watch says eight years, five days, two hours, and twelve seconds.

"Sid. Sid!"

"What. What!" I'm seventeen now and have zero years, sixteen days, ten hours and two seconds.

"It's time for school. I don't feel like being late again."

"Okay. Okay. Sorry, Jace. It's been a long week."

"I know Sid. I'm sorry."
And without another word we were out the door. Jace knows what I go through every day. Well, she goes through the same thing. We both are in an abusive family. Dad drinks a lot and when he gets mad he takes it out on me. It's a never ending cycle really. Jace and I try not to go home as often as we can, but we have to go back some time, right? If this stupid watch thing is true, finding your soulmate and whatnot, I hope mine comes quick. I hate living here. It's time for a change in my life.
