I don't need reassurance or shallow sympathy,

I need someone who can merely relate.

They all feel sorry,

They all think you're brave,

They all say it sucks that you have to be this way.

But when was the last time someone looked you in the eyes and just told you

they do the same things that you do,

they think the same way you do,

with no pitying smiles, nor shame in their gaze.

No brushing it over or under the rug.

They see straight through your skull and they know your alien ways,

maybe a little too closely.
