Prolouge

March 16th, 2009

Tiana

The sound of aggressive writing was heard throughout the room as I let out another groan before ripping out the sheet of paper from my book throwing it to the pile of crumpled paper I had in the corner.

Grabbing my head as another headache rushed through. The dorm next to me being hella loud was not helping as they were playing their music hella loud and screaming and laughing like a bunch of idiots.

I really fucking hated St. John's university the people here really pissed me off they were all just dumbasses.

My bedroom door opened making me look up as I saw my best friend Alica
Looking mad as hell.

"Girl these niggas next door loud as fuck I can't even sleep" she said as she came and laid on me.

"Tell me about it I'm tryna write some lyrics but I can't even think. like go study or something they do this shit every night". I spoke while playing with my besties hair.

"We should go next door and confront them" Alica said getting up while grabbing my hand.

Grabbing my robe I followed her as we both walked out the dorm and to the door next to us.

I knocked the door three times and we waited we got no answer. Alica had enough and knocked hella hard as the music and loud talking through the door quieted down.

The door roughly opened as a darkskin man. "Can I help you?" He spoke while looking confused.

"Yeah yeah you can help me if y'all just shut the fu-" Alica spoke but I quickly covered her mouth.

"I'm sorry it's just it's 2am and some of us actually have to wake up early so do you mind if you guys could just turn down the music and the yelling a bit" I spoke kindly with a smile.

"Nah we good" the guy replied before trying to shut the door but I quickly put my foot there pushing the door back.

"The fuck you mean nah? I'm sorry but we have actual shit to do tomorrow plus nobody wants to listen to your trash ass raps" I said more aggressively towards him now.

He was about to say something till a taller dude with a buzz cut came with a drink in his hand. "Hey hey hey yoooo the fuck is going on" he said pushing the other dude back a bit.

He looked over as his eyes landed on me looking at me head to toe. Damn why he kinda fine though.

"We just came to ask y'all to turn down the music cause we tryna sleep, so please can y'all just shut the fuck up"I said before walking away as I heard Alica let out a "mhmm" behind me before following me.

The next night 

The soft voice of Erykah badu singing her song didn't cha know was playing in my room as I was drying my hair after my nice hot shower. A knock interrupted me and I shouted one second to the person.

Quickly putting on shorts and a tank top I went to the front door still drying my hair with the towel as I opened the door as the same tall light skin dude from next door was on the other side.

"Oh hi" I said a little confused as the movement of drying my hair completely stopped.

"Hey I just came here to apologize for how my friend acted towards you last night" he said with his hands in his Jean pockets.

"Yeah it's fine I see there's no music or yelling tonight" I responded with a light chuckle as I threw my towel on a near by chair.

"Yeah I promise to make sure to keep it down from now on beautiful. I'm Jermaine by the way nice to meet you" he said taking his hand out his pocket and held it out for me to shake.

"Tiana" I responded shaking his hand gently as we both held eye contact.
