When I gave you those chocolates?
Do you remember
How nervous I was?
How shaky my voice was?
How my hands couldn't hold the box right?
How I couldn't look you in the eye?
How my friends laughed at me from behind?
How I ran out of the room
In the complete opposite direction
That my class was in
Because I was so disoriented
by your voice?
Did you even eat the chocolates?
Did you feel bad
Sending your friend to go turn me down
So that your sorry ass
Didn't have to say anything?
Did you even care?
Did you ever care...?
Did you know
That I never expected you
To say yes?
Yet somehow it still hurt
When he told me you said no.
