"Oh." was all Aurora said. It was all she could say. It was bad enough he killed the Minotaur, probably one of the most famous monsters alive. But he was cute too?

The gods really did have their favorites. It made Aurora livid.

Aurora bet that he was a forbidden child, the one the prophecies raved about. Not that that was exactly a sane possibility, given that Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades made a pact to never have children again, but it unfortunately fit, because even as he was lying in a hospital bed, he didn't look... bad.

His hair was dark and messy—probably because he was recovering from a fucking Minotaur attack—but his skin, although he was on the brink of death, was tan, like he spent everyday out on the beach. He seemed to glow.

"Told you." Annabeth smirked, elbowing Aurora. She shoved her back.

"He drools when he sleeps." Aurora commented, reaching out for a napkin to wipe the drool dribbling from the boy's mouth. She leaned over him, gently pushing away dark strands of hair from in front of his eyes.

They fluttered open a little, and all Aurora could see was green. It was the prettiest shade of green she'd ever seen, almost a mixture between blue and green. Like the color of sea glass you'd find in the ocean, which Grover constantly complained about. "It's not environmentally safe or friendly for all the sea life!"

"Erghm," the boy murmured. His eyelashes were really long, Aurora noticed. Lacy from Aphrodite Cabin would be jealous, she'd been trying every serum to get hers to look like that.

"Sounds intelligent." She snorted, withdrawing herself from over the boy. "His name?"

"Percy Jackson." Annabeth replied. "He's the one."

"Yeah, I guess he has to be." Aurora sighed, staring down at the unconscious newbie. He seemed sweet. "But I really hope he's not."

She was expecting screaming. Stampeding. Something more from the kid who defeated the Minotaur. Some angry, hysterical, entertaining reaction.

But no. He was clueless. It bothered her.

It really, really bothered her.

Aurora had a certain... lifestyle she had to uphold. To be perfect. Flawless. She was the good girl. She had to be, or else she feared she would get smited—smote?—by the gods.

Aurora was not supposed to exist. Not because she was threatening or all powerful, she just wasn't. It was made abundantly clear by the gods.

But she had a funny feeling Percy was going to cause trouble. Big trouble.

Aurora groaned. "Annie, he's boring. He's gonna be annoying, isn't he? I can tell. I don't care that he's, like, slightly cute, I can feel his insufferability."

"You're so impatient, Rory." Annabeth shot her a look. "Don't be so negative."

"Can we ambush him?" She made her voice sound slightly hopeful as she plucked a flower from her wrist.

"Gods, you have issues." Annabeth glanced at her best friend with disdain. "It's kind of freaky how you grow flowers from your body."

"It's kind of freaky how you think with your brain." Aurora retorted, sticking out her tongue at the blonde girl, leaving Annabeth shaking her head and muttering about how immature Rory was.

"Do you think they're talking to him?" Aurora asked, a hint of seriousness flashing over her usually joking expression. "Do you think he knows anything about the Summer Solstice?"

Annabeth shook her head. "As much as I wish he did... you're right. He's practically useless right now."

"Annabeth? Aurora?" Chiron's voice was loud and firm, and Aurora sighed to her friend.

"Guess it's time to meet this fucker."

Annabeth rolled her eyes, grabbing Aurora's wrist and bringing her forward to meet Percy. He stood there, dumbfounded, his eyes flickering between the two girls.

"These young ladies nursed you back to health, Percy. My dears, why don't you go check on Percy's bunk? We'll be putting him in Cabin Eleven for now." Chiron introduced, smiling sagely down at the three, plus Grover, Aurora's favorite satyr.

Aurora opened her mouth, a quick "But—" slipping out of her lips, because fuck no, but Annabeth elbowed Aurora in the stomach for the second time that say and answered for them both with a quick glare. "Sure, we'd be happy to."

The girl grunted, grumbling to herself. "I guess."

She turned to Percy, raised an eyebrow at the Minotaur horn in his hands, and scoffed. "A hero in the making with a huge drooling problem." She muttered, before Annabeth whisked her away.
