When they were a few feet away from Cabin Eleven, Annabeth said, "Jackson, you have to do better than that."

"What?" Percy answered. Clueless.

Annabeth rolled her eyes and mumbled under her breath, "I can't believe I thought you were the one."

Aurora heaved a sigh. She knew her friend wished Percy would be the guy who got her a quest, but to her, quests were pointless.

She was a target her entire life—because why wouldn't she be—so she wasn't exactly looking forward to when she would eventually be sent out to die again.

However, quests were the only way demigods could prove themselves to their parents, to the gods, and Aurora needed approval. She needed it.

"What's your problem?" She could tell Percy was getting angry. "All I know is, I kill some bull guy—"

"Fuck, you need shut up." Aurora blurted out, clenching her fist. She was getting tired of all his talking.

"You know how many kids at this camp wish they'd had your chance?" Annabeth said, outraged.

"To get killed?"

"To fight the Minotaur!" Annabeth answered. "What do you think we train for?"

"Well, I don't train for that." Aurora raised her hand theatrically. Annabeth always questioned whether her father was Dionysus, considering how dramatic the girl was. "I train not to die. You know, like a sane person. I don't particularly like Hades." She snickered to herself, like she was the only one who would get the joke. "I don't think he would like my soul all that much."

Annabeth and Percy began to argue, but Aurora began to disassociate. Like she had said earlier, as long as Percy was clueless, he was boring.

However, when she looked at Percy, she couldn't help but become immersed.

His aquamarine eyes, his brooding expression, his stubborn stance... now that he was well and healthy, he radiated a certain type of power that Aurora hadn't seen, well, ever. Maybe from her annoying godly stepfather, but...

She reached forward, behind Percy's ear, and plucked a flower. Aurora frowned, mulling over the water lily that had just grown. No one grew flowers but her, unless she felt something.

Aurora brushed it off, letting the flower fall to the ground, but Percy stared at her in horror.

"What just happened? Are you a goddess?" Percy stared at her incredulously, poking her shoulder like she would erupt in flames.

"Huh?" Her face contorted into one of confusion, staring at the boy like he had three heads. "That's sweet, but what?"

Percy blushed a feverish red as Annabeth tried to hide her smirk.

"Whatever." He continued. "Look, I don't even want to be here. Why do I have to stay in Cabin Eleven anyway? Why is everyone so crowded together? There are plenty of empty bunks right over there." He pointed to Zeus, Hera, and Poseidon's cabins, causing Annabeth to turn pale.

"You don't just choose a cabin, Percy. It depends on who your parents are. Or... your parent." Annabeth stared at Percy, waiting for him to process. Aurora sighed again, tapping her foot impatiently as daisies sprung out of the ground.

"Sally Jackson." Percy's voice trembled, but held a strength that it didn't have before. "Where's her cabin?"

"Sally Jackson?" Annabeth muttered, glancing sideways at Aurora. "Does he think she has a cabin here? No, I meant your other one. Your dad. Not your mom."
