LISA'S POV

The possibility of whether my father's clan was involved in his death persisted in my mind. It kept me awake all night, thinking about the different explanations for such a horrible verdict. Are they also seeking retribution, or is this all a ruse to make them appear uninvolved? I'm not sure what to think anymore. Despite thinking all night, I couldn't think of a reason why they would do it. My father managed them. They did not struggle because of him, and they were thriving because of what Father had given them. Most importantly, we are a family. That would be such a cruel thing to do. And I would not let them get away if they were truly involved.

This is why I am on the road to the Manoban Clan's main compound. I had notified my uncle, Taeyang, beforehand. If there are locations I should look into, our main facility would be the first on the list. My life is a little chaotic. Being a member of a highly respected organization in this city is difficult. Complicated uncertainties are always on your side, and you must make decisions that could impact one's life. I wish I had a different surname, but I can't alter it. It is already a prominent task for me to carry out.

"Welcome, our superintendent!" The clan's comrades shouted and lined up in front of me. They immediately bowed when I got off my car.

"Superintendent? I'm not the one who's leading this organisation." I responded, almost a question. But, they did not move or did not even leap up their heads.

"Your comrades are waiting for you. And they're glad to see you here, finally stepping inside this compound that your father had developed." Elder Taeyang speak, turning my head to him.

"You are in charge here. I don't know why they're calling me that weird thing." I responded and walked towards him. Before we step inside the building, Elder Taeyang signalled his comrades to disperse.

"They know." Elder Taeyang simply answered.

"Know what elder?" I asked in curiosity.

"They know who's the next head of this organisation." He stopped walking and faced me before opening the door.

"Aren't you the Head in this?" I asked.

"I'm only the 2nd one. The leader among us is here. Standing in front of me." Elder Taeyang put his left hand on his back while he lifted up his right hand to point at me.

"Me? You're joking, right?" I chuckled.

"Come inside." He opened the door.

The atmosphere within the building is gloomy and eerie. I looked around and felt horrified. I'm not sure, but this is how they display their dominance. I think. And I believe it is effective because I sense the electricity of the air inside. This is the first time I've returned since leaving. They greatly enhanced everything.

"Aside from your Father's will, he left a letter here. He wants you to take his position when the time comes. And now is the time." He handed me a letter, and I took my time reading it.

"We need your answer right away. I'm going to leave you in the meantime to think about it." Elder Taeyang bowed and excused himself, leaving me in this old-fashioned room, which I believe is my father's room.

I sat down, holding the letter. I believe destiny is with me. I only wanted to visit them to watch, but the world provided me with the opportunity to wield dominance and control over everything. This will make my mission easier. I didn't waste any time and headed right out to find Elder Taeyang. I need to take the position immediately to monitor all of their operations and negotiations.

"Elder Taeyang." I called him when I saw him standing beside a training area.

"Made up your mind?" He asked me without looking at me.
