Today, they had to go for a checkup for their 5-month-old baby. Lisa was accompanied by Jungkook, who had left an important meeting for this.

Entering the hospital, Jungkook carried the baby while Lisa searched for her doctor. After a while, the doctor emerged from the hallway after finishing her appointment with another family, catching Lisa's attention.

"Doctor," she greeted with a smile.

"Ah, Lisa-shii! How are you? I suppose you're here for the checkup for your baby? How is he?" the doctor replied warmly.

"He's fine, he's with my friend," Lisa said, motioning for Jungkook.

"Jeon-a," she called as Jungkook approached with their baby in his arms.

Jungkook and the doctor met each other, both surprised by the encounter.

"Jungkook?" the female doctor smiled happily.

"Ah, Sunhee?" Jungkook's face lit up with recognition.

"Wait, you two know each other?" Lisa, who was confused, asked.

"Yes, well, he's my close family friend," the doctor explained, smiling.

"Ah, right," Jungkook nodded in agreement.

"Alright then, give the baby to Lisa, and you stay here. You can't come inside," Sunhee teased Jungkook, who cutely pouted in response.

"Why?" he whined.

"You can't. We'll let you know when to come after the checkup, so just wait here. Lisa-shii, you can go to my office and stay there," Sunhee requested, to which Lisa nodded and left.

"Please take care of her. That's my child," Jungkook requested.

"Really? Since when?" Sunhee teased.

"Just do it," he tried to act cool, his cheeks flushing slightly.

After the checkup, both Lisa and Jungkook were waiting outside anxiously for the results. Jungkook noticed Lisa's anxious and nervous demeanor, so he softly held her hand, eliciting a surprised look from her.

"Don't worry, everything is going to be alright," he reassured her with a gentle smile. In response, Lisa tightened her grip on his hand and nodded, returning his smile.

The doctor arrived and shared the results, confirming that the baby was fine and healthy. Relieved, Lisa let out a sigh of relief while Jungkook squeezed her hand affectionately. "See? I told you everything would be okay," he said, his smile widening as they shared a moment of joy and gratitude.

As they walked out of the doctor's office, Lisa couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion. She turned to Jungkook, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you for being here with me," she said, her voice trembling slightly.

Jungkook gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face and smiled. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," he replied softly. "We're in this together, Lisa."

Feeling a wave of warmth wash over her, Lisa leaned into Jungkook's embrace, feeling grateful for his unwavering support. As they walked hand in hand towards the exit, she knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them as a team. And with Jungkook by her side, she felt stronger than ever.

Later that night, after putting the baby to bed, Jungkook felt a desire to learn more about Lisa's past. "Noona," he gently called her, and she responded with a soft hum.

"Noona, can I talk to you about something?" he asked, prompting Lisa to turn around, her head tilting slightly in confusion.

"Noona, if you don't mind, could you please share your past with me? About your relationship with Jacob-nim and his accident? I didn't mean to hurt you; I just want to understand your past so that we can strengthen our bond, and you can release your pain," he softly held her hand, waiting for her response.

Lisa pondered for a few moments before deciding to open up about her past relationship with her late boyfriend.

"So, Jacob and I met in 5th grade, to be exact. We were seatmates, and that's how it all began. When the teacher assigned us to sit together, we became close friends, and after 2 years, I confessed my love to him. After a few days, he accepted, and we started dating in 8th grade, to be exact. He was the best boyfriend, my first love," she recounted, her voice tinged with nostalgia and sadness.

"But our relationship faced challenges as we grew older," Lisa continued, her gaze drifting to a distant memory. "We had our ups and downs, like any couple. But Jacob was always there for me, through thick and thin. He was my rock."

Her voice faltered slightly as she recalled the events leading to Jacob's accident.

As Lisa recounted the events leading to Jacob's accident, her voice trembled with raw emotion. "It was a rainy night," she began, her eyes distant as she recalled the harrowing memory. "Jacob was driving home from work, and I was on the phone with him. That's when the accident happened"

Her words caught in her throat as tears welled up in her eyes. "I heard the screech of tires, the sound of metal crunching..." she trailed off, her voice barely above a whisper. "And then... silence."

As Lisa delved deeper into the memories of that fateful night, each detail seemed to carve a deeper wound in her heart. "The rain was pouring down relentlessly," she recounted, her voice trembling with the weight of her emotions. "I could hear the anxiety in Jacob's voice as he navigated the slick roads, trying to make his way home to me."

She paused, her breath catching in her throat as she relived the horror of the moment. "And then... the sound of screeching tires pierced through the phone," she continued, her voice barely above a whisper. "I remember the sudden silence that followed, and my heart stopped."

The weight of the moment pressed heavily upon Lisa as she remembered the agony of that night. "I knew something was wrong," she confessed, her hand clutching tightly to Jungkook's for support. "I called out his name, but there was no answer. Just... silence."

Tears streamed down Lisa's cheeks as she recounted the desperate moments that followed. "I called out his name, over and over again, but there was no response," she choked out, her words filled with anguish. "All I could hear was the echo of my own voice, mingled with the sound of rain pounding against the pavement."

The weight of the realization hit Lisa like a freight train - she had been carrying their unborn child at the time of the accident. The knowledge that their dreams of starting a family together had been shattered in an instant filled her with a profound sense of loss and sorrow.

"I felt like my world was crumbling around me," Lisa confessed, her voice barely audible amidst the tidal wave of emotions crashing over her. "The thought of facing the future without Jacob by my side, without the father of my child... It was unbearable."

The realization hit her like a tidal wave - she had been two months pregnant at the time of the accident. The thought of the life growing inside her, of the future they had dreamed of together, shattered by one tragic moment, filled her with overwhelming sorrow.

"I felt so alone," Lisa admitted, her voice barely audible amidst the ache in her heart. "Losing Jacob, knowing he would never hold our child, never see them grow... It was more than I could bear."

As Jungkook listened, his heart ached for the pain Lisa had endured. He squeezed her hand gently, offering silent support and understanding. In that moment, they shared not only their sorrow but also the strength to overcome it together.

"We never got the chance to say goodbye," Lisa whispered, her voice barely audible. "Losing him was the hardest thing I've ever experienced."

As Jungkook listened to Lisa's heartbreaking tale, his own heart ached with empathy and sorrow. He wrapped his arms around her, offering her the solace and support she so desperately needed. In that moment, they shared not only their pain but also a glimmer of hope for the healing journey that lay ahead.

Tears welled up in her eyes, and Jungkook reached out to gently wipe them away. "Thank you for sharing, Noona," he said softly, offering her a comforting embrace. "I'm here for you, always."

With Jungkook's support, Lisa felt a weight lift off her shoulders as she released the pain of her past. In that moment, she knew she had found someone she could truly lean on.
