Pyrrha was devastated by Jaune's departure from beacon. He was her whole world, and she would have given anything to see him stay. But team RWBY were determined to see him depart, and she could not stop it, lest she make everything worst for Jaune.
Once she heard of his unfortunate fate, she lost it completely. She did not speak to anyone for weeks, only interacting with others to train.
And boy did she train. She threw herself into training, developing an inferiority complex. She believed that what had happened to Jaune was her fault, and that she could have prevented it all if she was better.
So she trained. She often trained until her body would give out, and then trained some more. She trained so much that she had developed a multitude of scars littering her body from accidents.
After a month or two, she had opened up to Nora and Ren, the two being her only source of happiness. While they were also devastated by the loss of Jaune, the had each other to confide in. But Pyrrha didn't have anyone. So they stood next to her determined to stay by her side no matter what.
When Pyrrha was informed they were getting a replacement for Jaune, she had stormed towards Ozpin's office, destroying any metal in her path.
Ever since then she's become detached from anything that wasn't Nora, Ren, and Ruby. It had no importance. The only thing on her mind was strength. It was the only thing she had searched for this whole time.
When she had gotten a call from Ruby at 3 in the morning, she thought it was odd. Ruby never called late, as her team was usually sleep and she would be quite loud whilst on the scroll.
Picking up, she didn't know what she was expecting. It sure wasn't the seriousness Ruby spoke with, nor was it her jittery eyes, like she was about to burst from holding something in for too long.
"Pyr, you won't believe what just happened to us."
Pyrrha, now interested in what happened, listened intently.
"What happened Ruby?"
"So we were sent on a mission to investigate an object detected landing in beacon's vicinity. When we got there we had saw a super cool paladin, but it was different. It was more slim, looking much more refined and streamlined. Secondly, the cockpit was a hatch that leaded towards the chest of the paladin."
"I went to go investigate and found even more weird things. A gun which didn't look like it was built on remnant. A whole bunch of buttons and doohickeys. But the most interesting was a photo."
Pyrrha, invested, said "A photo? That was really the most interesting thing"
"Yes. Why, you ask? Because it was a photo of your team." Ruby responded
Huh. How...odd
"Well maybe it's one of...Christopher's relatives. He knows a lot of people around Atlas."
"It was a photo of Team Juniper" Ruby stated.
Pyrrha's heart immediately dropped to the ground when she heard those words.
"That's impossible. There were only 4 copies of that photo, and we all have ours. The last copy was with-"
"Jaune." Ruby interjected.
"Then, after I looked around the cockpit, a strange man wearing a suit from out of this world grabbed Weiss and held her at gunpoint." She finally got her comeuppance Pyrrha thought.
"What caught me off guard was that he sounded familiar. He was so relaxed, as if he never had any intention of harming us in the first place. I was able to see some hair sticking out from under his helmet, and guess what?"
"What happened?"
"It was a familiar shade of blonde. One you would know well"
Impossible Pyrrha thought.
"Jaune is dead. We found his belongings in that forest remember? We sent them back to his family ourselves."
"I swear on my career as a huntress Pyr." Ruby said, hoping to reaffirm Pyrrha.
"Don't give me any more hope Ruby. I just got used to not having him around. Don't make me think about it more."
"Pyr. It was him. He took his helmet off and I saw him. He's alive Pyr."
Pyrrha burst into tears at those words, having recently accepted the fact that Jaune would never come back. Those were words she never thought she would hear.
Ruby stayed on the phone with her the whole night as she cried. She cried until she couldn't, and the. Cried some more. She was so glad to hear Jaune was alive.————————————————————————————————————
Jaune was getting accustomed to not living in times of war, which was incredibly difficult for him. Little Adrian had walked in his room during the night, and it took all he had not to jump up and reach for a weapon. It was tough, but he would do it for his family.
Jaune was currently just outside of Argus, hanging inside of Ace.
He was messing around with Ace's systems, trying to find a way to fix her up to work on Remnant. It was relaxing. So much so that he was unprepared to face the wrath of the warrior he had forgotten about.
Jaune was inside his titan, resting from tampering with it for so long when he had gotten an alert from Ace.
"WARNING PILOT. HOSTILE APPROACHING. BE ON GUARD."
All the alarms were set off in his head. He had cleared the area of grimm before he stopped to start tinkering. It was also just one hostile. What could it possibly be-
"JAUNE ARC. COME OUT FROM THE PALADIN RIGHT NOW OR SO HELP ME OUM I WILL FORCE YOU OUT OF THERE!"
That voice sounds mighty familiar. But he was racking his brain to try and remember it. Something about it felt... good to hear-
He finally remembered who it was. He had forgotten for a split second, and he hates that he forgot it even for a moment.
As he exited the titan, he laid eyes on the most beautiful sight. Pyrrha had grown, just as he had, into a marvelous women. Her hair was cut short, reaching just past her shoulders. He had a noticeable amount of new scars here and there. But her eyes captivated him, just as they had during his stay at Beacon.
"Pyr? Gods is it really you?" He questioned.
"Jaune Arc, you are sorely mistaken if you think everything is fine and dandy. You left us thinking you were dead for three years."
"Well there was nothing I could-"
"Three years! Not a hint you were alive. I thought I had lost you. You don't know how hard it was to deal with you leaving us. And the first thing you do when you get back is put a gun to your friend's head."
"I know Pyr. I know I messed up a lot. I haven't been here and it's clear that everyone involved is hurt. I'm sorry. I'm back for good now, and I'll do anything to make up for it." Jaune apologized.
"I know Jaune. I won't be able to forget this. But I can move forward from here." Pyrrha said.
As she spoke she moved to embrace him, clutching on for dear life.
"Please don't leave again." She pleaded.
"I won't. I swear on my family's name" Jaune replied.
And with that, the 2 long lost lovers were reunited again.
