They were emotionally exhausted. Jisung didn't realize when he fell asleep but when he woke up, he felt energized and healed. He turns to his side, finding Seorin between him and Donghyuck. He can only stare, puzzled at how they decided to cuddle up, he was probably too tired to care.

He has butterflies in his stomach at this sight, a smile that comes on his face and quickly vanishes. His phone rang, and he realized how the sun had already set. He had received 20 phone calls from Renjun, a few from Chenle and Mark,

"Hey, Renjun. We were asleep, today was an exhausting day for us and our bond had been weakened again, you don't need to worry—"

"Jisung." the voice that came through the phone was a woman's voice. He looked at his phone again to make sure he called Renjun.

"Is my daughter doing okay?" It was his mother. He gulps nervously, becoming embarrassed.

"We're doing okay."

"Then why is your bond so weak?." He's caught off guard.

"We're taking it slow, ma'am," he replies, fidgeting as he waits for her reply.

"So are you alone? I heard your parents were on a trip?"

His face reddened, why does everyone automatically assume they want to be gross just because his parents weren't around?

"Are you giving me some sort of warning, Ma'am?"

"I don't trust any men," she catches him off guard. "I was pregnant with Renjun before marriage when I was still studying, and because of that, we struggled financially. Both she and I lived separately from her fathers who had a lot of debt, so they raised Renjun in another country where they found jobs... learn from me and don't think of exploiting her."

Jisung was speechless, but at least she wasn't like his parents. He coughs awkwardly.

"I assure you we're not there yet, we aren't even dating so you can be at ease," he says calmly.

"What?!" She shouts making his heart sink.

"We're all very slow and platonic, what can I say?" he laughs awkwardly. In the background, he can hear Renjun screaming for his missing phone, and that was her cue to hang up.

He sees Donghyuck sitting awake, seeing that he is listening to their conversation.

"Did you sleep well?" He asks to which the older nods with a yawn. He beams at him tiredly.
He gets up carefully to make sure he doesn't wake her up and the two head to the kitchen, hungry.

Jisung ordered their dinner hoping that Seorin would eat with them.

"Future mother-in-law was right about something."

"And what's that?" Jisung asks as he cuts an apple.

"That men can't be trusted." Jisung gives him a side-eye, waiting for him to explain who gives a wink in return.

"We won't hurt or disrespect her," Jisung rolled his eyes, he hated how low he was thought of but then Jisung was the opposite of hurting someone, and that itself could be a vice.
