After I was left breathless, his whispered words sent a shiver down my spine. "You're never leaving me," he mumbled, his voice heavy with possessiveness.

Suddenly, he pinned my knees to my chest with a force that left me feeling helpless and vulnerable.

"The things I would do..." His words hung in the air, laden with a sinister implication that sent a chill coursing through my veins.

Stunned into silence, I could only watch as he returned my phone to me with a glare that spoke volumes, a silent warning not to defy him.

I sighed heavily as I unlocked my phone, bracing myself for the flood of messages.

The first one caught my eye immediately:

"AIN'T NO WAY Y/N RUNNING"

I couldn't help but chuckle at the familiar banter from my friends.

"GIRL, RUN FASTER! HE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU"

Another message followed, teasingly mocking my lack of athleticism.

"Well, we all know she ain't athletic," it read, prompting an eye roll from me.

"She's really not," chimed in another friend, referencing my aversion to anything gym-related during freshman year of college.

"Wow, Amelia, way to roast me like that," I muttered under my breath.

But then, amidst the playful banter, I noticed a private message from Alex, and my heart skipped a beat.

"Told you these people were nuts."

"Yeah, wasted no time punishing you, huh?"

I stared at the message for a moment, processing its implications.

"They did the same to you?"

"Oh, absolutely," came the reply. "You see, they're smart enough to know they don't want you to fear them, but they want you to know the rules."

"That explains... a lot."

"Yeah, I guess they figured it out. You can't fear them, but you can fear the punishment."

"Sheesh."

"Yeah, trust me, they're eager to punish. Creeps."

Leaning against the cool surface of the wall, I let out a heavy sigh, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me. Thoughts raced through my mind like a whirlwind, each more unsettling than the last.

These people were truly insane, their actions leaving me questioning everything I thought I knew about them.

In the aftermath of the recent events, Dean's demeanor towards me had shifted drastically. It was as if a veil of suspicion had descended between us, further deepening the already strained atmosphere.

Despite knowing that Dean wouldn't dare harm me directly, I couldn't shake the gnawing fear for the safety of others in his vicinity.

Lost in contemplation, I idly toyed with the idea of testing the limits of his control. What would happen if I dared to provoke him? Would it result in a swift retaliation, or would it unravel a side of him even darker than I imagined?

As I looked up from the TV, I found Dean seated across from me, his gaze locked onto mine with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. His eyes held a silent warning, a subtle reminder of the delicate balance upon which our fragile peace rested.

Yeah

No

"Yeah," I replied, my tone laced with curiosity.

"No," he countered, his voice tinged with a hint of mischief.

"Why are you staring?" I questioned, breaking the silence that hung between us.

"Because you're pretty," he confessed, his eyes softening as he spoke.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his straightforward compliment, a playful smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

As he moved closer, I felt a warmth spreading through me, his presence comforting yet exhilarating at the same time. "Feels great just being next to you... no work, just us," he whispered, his breath tickling my ear.

"You look unstable," I remarked, unable to resist teasing him even in this intimate moment.

"I might be, dear," he admitted with a chuckle, his arms wrapping around me in a gentle embrace.

"Aren't you usually on your laptop or working?" I probed, genuinely curious about his sudden change in behavior.

"Nope, not for an entire month. I should have done this sooner instead of working from home," he confessed, a sheepish grin spreading across his face.

"Weirdo," I teased affectionately, leaning into his embrace as we shared a moment of lighthearted banter.
