When dawn starts to paint the sky in her hues,

I started waiting for you.

You light up the world and ask for nothing in return.

Your presence fills my heart with joy and excitement.

So bright, so majestic,

My eyes were fixed on you with awe and admiration.

I envy the clouds being closer to you,

I envy the sky that holds you.

Why is it that I can't touch you? Why is it that I can't be the one to hold you?

I wish to be the one to wrap you around my tender leaves.

Everything I have, I name it you.

Even my name, I give it to you.

I write your name in my destiny everyday,

but the cruel winds of the night takes it away.

When the curtains fall down after your brilliant performance,

You leave me again without waving a goodbye.

Defeated, I slip into slumber again.

I travel down to the dreamland with your name engraved.
